"How many people have you stabbed, exactly?"
"Frankly, not enough, and many of those deserved it." Shepard groans over the memories of individuals greedy fingers and utensils reaching for the food off their plates. Garrus nods, concealing his amusement behind his glass."What if they were on their last leg-"
"No!" Shepard slams down their glass.
"That finger food from your plate could be what saves them from starvation."
"That sounds like their problem! That's one-finger food out of my stomach, I'm not risking that." The two of them laugh, Garrus' laugh dies as he watches the hologram particles mimic the exact expressions, they got the laugh just right. He presses restart, picking out another memory sequence script, watching the hologram movements skip and pause before setting it into place for its designated memory. Shepard eyes Garrus down, focused eyes on his features, smiling warmly.
"We should go on dates more often." The hologram repeats. "We don't get time to ourselves anymore." The hand reaches and passes through his.
"We should've taken more time with each other." He goes off script.
"Yeah..." Shepard sighs. "Tools of the intergalactic government never sleep."
"I miss you." "Always short with words." Shepard chuckles.
"And I wish it had been someone else to save the galaxy....Maybe...." He pauses. "We could've run off somewhere new...far, far away."
"But we always managed to keep each other afloat... thanks to you." They lean in softly. "Alright stop it." He returns to the script.
"You never liked praise did you?" Shepard teases. "You wonderful, wonderful soldier boy! You glorious hero you!"
