"I don't know how I feel about this." I say. "And what's the point in a costume party if Halloween is like a month and a half away?""Bash throws these parties cause he can and Theo's in charge of the themes so there is no rhyme or reason for his madness." Francesca says looking up at me as she sits on the floor doing her make up. She fluffs out the Dorothy outfit so that she's not crushing it and I smile at how fitting it is for her personality.
"This is such an inconvenience." I mutter, staring longingly at my bed wanting to curl up under the covers so badly.
"Shut up, you look hot." Niamh says rolling her eyes and smacking my ass.
I narrow my eyes at her and take in her costume. She's gone as Barbie. Also fitting.
I look at myself in the mirror and sigh. I play with the fake sword at my side before putting the red and white bandana on my head. "My boobs are out." I think out loud.
"Good." Niamh chuckles as she finishes curling her hair. "It's a costume party Spencer, it's like a rule that you have to wear something slutty. It's like female empowerment, or something."
"I don't think that's even remotely true." I laugh, taking in my entire outfit. "Plus Franny isn't dressed slutty."
"Because Sebastian would have my head if I even tried. No guy is even allowed to breathe in Francesca Chen's direction." Niamh scoffs and Francesca just shrugs, seemingly not bothered.
I'm wearing a white off the shoulder top, red corset and a ruffled black shirt. It's actually a kind of cute outfit the more I look at it which makes me annoyed because that means that Niamh is right and I hate it when she's right.
"Are we done here?" I ask them and they both nod.
"Forgive me for wanting to make you look hot for the Chen brothers." Niamh laughs bumping my hip as we walk towards the, wait for it, God damn ballroom.
As if this school has a fucking ball room dedicated to school functions and events, that I've heard happen quite regularly, and as if the Chen Brothers were allowed to throw parties whenever they pleased.
"What are you talking about?" I ask her.
"Oh please." She snorts, her pink latex dress rubbing awkwardly against my thigh. "You're telling me you haven't noticed either of them basically eye fucking you every time you walk past?"
"OH MY GOD! NO!" Francesca groans closing her eyes. "Awful, awful image in my mind."
I think about it for a moment, chewing my lip. "Don't be stupid. Sebastian hates me and Theo flirts with everyone."
"If you say so." Niamh shrugs grabbing both of our hands and pulling us into the massive room.
I'm not sure what I was expecting the party to look like but Sebastian and Theo seem to have gone all out with the decorations. There are black and red streamers thrown from crystal chandeliers, and caterers dressed in black with red devil masks. There's even a bar at the side of the room. I look around at all the other students dressed in expensive looking costumes and sigh. This is going to be a long night.
"Sebastian paid for all of this?" I ask Niamh and she nods.
She leads us to the bar and the guy at the counter asks us what we want to drink so I turn and whisper to Niamh that we're not eighteen yet but she just smirks at me, ordering us both a round of shots.
I laugh as I down the shot, jumping when I feel two figures behind me.
"A pirate?" Theo whispers in my ear, nipping it slightly. "Angel you make me think naughty things."
"Shut up." I laugh pushing him off of me.
I rake my eyes over his outfit skimming his brown shorts and blue dog collar (which is all he's wearing) and I quirk my eyebrow. "What are you supposed to be?"
He puts his hand on his chest in mock offence. "I'm scooby doo."
"You just wanted an excuse to get naked." I giggle and he winks at me.
"Maybe, maybe not."
My eyes flick over to Sebastian and I suck in a breath at the sight of him. He's wearing a green cape (nothing underneath), a bow and arrow slung over his back and baggy brown pants. He's fucking Robin Hood, which is ironic because he's the rich in this equation. My mouth goes dry as I take in his sculpted chest and I say 'fuck me' in my head.
"Maybe if you beg me." Sebastian says getting himself a drink.
My cheeks flush and I blink at him bewilderedly. "Did I say that out loud?"
"It would appear so." Sebastian downs the drink and I can see the corner of his lip quirk into an almost smile.
"You wanna dance?" I blurt out as I watch Niamh and Fran pull each other onto the dancefloor and Theo lets a random girl grind on him.
"No. I don't dance, Greene." Sebastian lifts his fingers for another drink and passes it to me.
"Why not?" I take a sip.
"It's a waste of time." He mutters, checking his watch.
"Are you waiting for your girlfriend or something?" I ask him, moving closer to him so that I can hear him better.
He leans down at me so that his breath is dancing on my cheek and in this moment he is eerily similar to his brother. "Are you jealous Greene?"
I scoff turning my cheek so that his lips brush against it. "As if." He straightens his posture and looks at his watch again making me narrow my eyes. "Why do you keep looking at your watch?"
"Why do you keep standing here talking to me when you could be around someone who actually wants your attention?" He counters.
"You can't answer a question with a question." I tell him.
He lets out a humorous laugh that makes me frown. "On the contrary, Greene. I can do whatever I want."
"You're a pompous ass." I down the drink in my hand, closing my eyes at the bitter taste.
"I'm a rich pompous ass." He corrects, leaving the drink that he got earlier on and stalking away from me, green cape flaying.
Well at least he's self aware.
