*Theresa's POV*

Waking up this morning, I was very excited to go to school. I am in NHS, the student body president, and a straight A student. I love learning but most importantly, I couldn't wait to see him. Benjamin Ingram. My boyfriend since freshman year. He was such a sweetheart honestly. Since he was at a summer camp for organized football, I didn't get to see him all summer and I missed him. Almost way too much.

"Ty!" I shouted from my room as I walked towards my sister's bedroom. "We're leaving in 15 minutes! Don't keep me waiting." As I reached her door, I heard shuffling and quiet whispers. They almost sounded angry.

"----you----I have----shh----go---"

"Don't come in, I'm naked!"

That was definitely a sight I did not want to see, so i made my way into the kitchen to prepare breakfast. Toast and a banana were all I needed today. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, so I checked to make sure Ty was dressed, but instead I was met with a tall blonde-haired girl scurrying out of the house half naked. I shook my head and just rolled my eyes at Ty. It wasn't unusual for her to bring girls home, but I would have thought that she could just leave it be for one night.

"What? I needed to de-stress." Ty said half-heartedly while shrugging as she made her way into the kitchen. She grabbed the milk jug from out of the fridge and poured a bunch in her mouth while taking handfuls of cereal and dropping them in her open mouth. Milk spilled everywhere and soggy circles of cereal were randomly placed on the tile floor of our kitchen. Sometimes I swear I wasn't related to her. Even though people always say we look like twins, we're actually not. Ty is a year older than me. Her mom left her when she was young before her dad met my mom. From there we became a slightly functional family.

"Stop being stupid and get dressed so that we can go Ty."

When we got to school, it felt the same as I remembered. The smell of rain and sunshine as i walked towards the head of the school building. West Valley High is where all my good memories are stored and I'm glad that they are. "Ty, Reese!" someone shouted as soon as we entered the gates. I looked over to where i heard the shrill voice come from and saw Klara, Ty's best friend. They never knew each other before high school, but they've been inseparable since. It's funny actually how you can meet someone and just know that they're going to be in your life forever. I had a lot of friends, but I didn't have a Klara if you know what i mean? Another one of Ty's friends joined us, but I didn't know his name. "Let's go get breakfast." They boy said cheerfully. I had already eaten enough so I didn't get anything, but knowing Ty, she was always hungry.

"Hey! Theresa, right? I'm Jackson."

I turned to my right to see Jackson, Ty's friend who I now finally knew the name of, sitting next to me. He was a little too close for comfort if you ask me, but I didn't take notice to it. "We could share this muffin if you'd like?" He said, inching closer slightly. I wasn't hungry so i respectfully declined. "Come on, it's just a muffin. It's not going to bite, I promise."

"I'm not hungry Jackson." I said sternly this time. I hoped that he finally got the message. He nodded and backed away before getting up from the table and walking away. He left his muffin. Poor guy I guess. I grabbed my water from my backpack and i felt myself knock something over with my elbow. "Shit! This dress was new too." Klara's strawberry yogurt was spilled all over her clean lilac dress and it was all thanks to me. "I'll help you clean up. I'm so sorry Klara!" I instantly ran over to grab towels from the nearest bathroom. It's only day one and I'm already screwing up. As I rushed to the bathroom, I bumped into someone pretty hard.

"Oh my god. I'm so sorry! I was rushing to go get some paper towels for my friend. She had a little accident...not that kind of accident but a strawberry one you know?" I rambled on. I finally looked up to see a girl. She looked kind of spacey to be honest. It was like she wasn't even really here. I wondered if she was high. I looked into her eyes to see if I could tell, but I couldn't. Maybe this was just her. She did kind of smile at me though and I'll admit, she had nice dimples at the ins of her cheeks. I would definitely find that cute if I were a guy.

"No, it was my fault." She said abruptly. "I wasn't paying attention." She truly did look remorseful for just bumping into a stranger but the thing that surprised me the most was her voice. It was deep yet melodical at the same time. To be honest, I found myself wanting to hear her speak more and more. I vaguely remembered that I had to tend to my Klara's yogurt situation, so I quickly excused myself and ran back to the table where I had clumsily spilled the yogurt. When I got back, there was no one there. Whatever, I guess it really didn't matter that much anyways.

At that moment, I realized that I was so so so so so so so very late for class. I carried my sorry ass all the way to a teacher called Mr. White's for chemistry. I opened the door and rambled to my him as to why I was late, hoping that this wouldn't go on my record. "Ms. Steele, It's okay. Just take a seat." My teacher, Mr. White, said. I was honestly surprised at his decency, so I hastily took a seat at the back corner next to this one girl. Her head was buried in her notebook, I so I just assumed that she was sleep or focusing really hard on taking notes.

As much as I tried to pay attention to his class expectations for the year, it got continuously harder as my mind started to drone off. I was actually bored in school. That's kind of a first. Maybe my day was just off to a bad start since I didn't get to see Ben yet. Then my mind went to the Klara thing. Not the yogurt, but the best friend thing. Maybe I could have that this year? I decided I might try to make a friend, so I turned to the girl next to me, not aware if she was awake or not, and made small talk.

"This class is really boring."

"I know right?" She responded. I don't know why, but she looked vaguely familiar to me and yet a stranger at the same time. "That's why I'm drawing to pass the time right now." She said with a bubbly tone in her voice and a small smile on her face. Then I felt like an idiot for not recognizing her the moment I saw her. In her smile were the cute little dimples that I saw this morning.
