CHAPTER 3

It has been two weeks now and Remembrance and I had last seen each other from the day at the park. I haven't heard from Pax too.

I just finished preparing myself for school luckily it is the last day of school for the week. It's Friyay! School has been nothing but hectic

"Faith is taking you to school today I'm late for work"my mother say's. My mother is a pre school teacher,her work is draining. I can't imagine if I had to work with children for almost my whole life .

She has been working with children for 15 years now.
Faith and I usually call her 'Teacher Govender'.

I then grabbed an apple and when I was just about to head out my sister started complaining.

"You know I'm going to leave you if you don't hurry up" She only said that because she's annoyed at the fact that she is taking me with her, otherwise she would've been the last one to leave the house.

When I got to school the first period was the worst,
Physical Sciences for a whole hour.

I then went to class and I bumped into Steven. He is one of Remembrance ex boyfriends.

"Why are you always frowning" steven asks with a teasing tone.

"I'm not frowning, I'm just not feeling this class." I answered him as we walked to class.

During class Ms Stèyn makes an announcement.

"While you're still writing please listen, there is a school educational trip that will be taking place on the 28th of  this month. Every school in our city will be attending this trip and-" as she was about to continue Zach cut her off.

"Where is this trip exactly and how much are we going to pay? Madam." He asks making a joke about it.

"Don't you ever interrupt me while I am talking again. This is the reason why you failed grade ten twice!" Ms Stèyn says annoyed.

The whole class laughed at him.

"As I was saying that this is an educational trip so it is free and we will be going to sterkfontein." She then started giving us letters to give to our parents.

The day went by until it was after-school. I  had to go  to fetch my sister from her class since she'll be taking me home.

I don't like having to go to the matriculants section but I currently do not have a choice.

"Uh uh why are you following me around?" Faith asks,she is embarrassed of me that's a fact. She always denies it when people ask her if we are siblings.

"What do you even mean because you are taking me home today, so I'm here to fetch you." I told her.

"I am still attending, I have afternoon classes you dummy!  Go wait for me in the car."

"You mean I should wait for you outside of the car. Faith I'm tired  you want me to stand out there looking like a fool?No!"

"Ok fine, take this money and go take a taxi. You're so annoying."

I just took the money and left her I didn't answer her I was angry she treats me like I don't have feelings or something.

After I had changed and ate I decided to rest and watch TV. I heard the sound of my mother's car entering the garage. She came home early today.

"Hey mom"I greeted her.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"she asks seeing that I was kinda surprised to see her at this time of the day.

Deep deep down in my heart I wanted to ask her why she came home so early but I know that she is going to overthink my question and  start assuming wrong things.

"Umm... what?" I pretended to not have heard what she said.

She knew that I heard her so she didn't even entertain me because she looked exhausted. She then went to her bedroom.

I was in my bedroom doing my homework while my mother was in the kitchen cooking dinner. Faith still hadn't came back home. Imagine if I had actually waited for her outside of her car. It could never be me.

I was looking outside the window, well I had zoned out.I then saw a black BMW parking at the gate.Who's car is that?who could it be?

I kept on asking myself because I have never seen this car before. After a long five minutes I saw someone step out of the car.
