Necklace

     After night fall, I waited till my mom was asleep and went on my way to meet Teyam at the spirit tree. I love Pandora's jungle and everything about its plants and how they glow at night like Eywa was lighting a path for you, so you're never lost in the dark. Everything was peaceful the animals out of sight, but you could hear them slightly, their calls to each other communicating in a way only they can understand. Approaching the spirit tree, I can see Neteyam speaking to Eywa, I'm not sure what he's saying but I think it's better not to know. I wait for him to finish speaking before walking up to him. 

     "Ay'a! you're here." he said while hugging me and twirling me around once "I said I would be, I'm a woman of my word." I'm not sure why we came to the tree of souls but either way I'm spending my last hours with Teyam and Eywa so it's nice. we decided to sit down "Did she tell you where you're going?" "Yeah" I said looking down at the floor "I'm going to the Metkayina clan where the reefs are." "Why go that far? why do you have to leave?" "I don't know she only said she has stuff to take care of, she's leaving me there to be raised by them, to learn their ways." "I'll come with you" he says touching my arm to comfort me "No Teyam you skxawng, you have to stay here and become a mighty warrior and then you can come save me from whatever is waiting for me there." " just think tomorrow you're going to leave, and we'll never see each other again" I slap his arm making him yell "don't say things like that, have trust in Eywa to bring us back together." "Okay, sorry" he says rubbing his arm and giving me his signature side eye. 

      "I'll wait for you, and I'll never have another best friend." Teyam says "pänutìng?"(this means Promise) i said holding out my pinky, this is something Jake taught us, and I've been using it ever since. Neteyam held out his pinky too "pänutìng" we linked pinky's, "there's no going back now Teyam." "No need to, you my best friend and it's not going to change because you're leaving." I look at him smiling and looking at his face, man I'm gonna miss him. "Do you know what the reefs are going to look like?" "Personally no, but my mom says they are beautiful and I'm going to love it there." " I hope you'll be happy." he says " without you, pft its gonna be impossible." I say sarcastically but I really meant it, how am i going to live without my best friend.

      "I have something for you." he says making my head look at him, he pulled out a necklace (the one up there) "It's from all the rocks you've given me from the creek, so you don't forget us, but mainly me." "OH, Teyem its beautiful did you make it yourself?" I said moving my hair so he can put it on. "Yeah, it took all day and my mom had to help me, but it's worth it" "Thank you Teyem" I said looking down at it and admiring it. " No problem" All of a sudden, we hear a noise grabbing onto each other's arm's we look around but seeing nothing we walk into the jungle just in case there was something. 

     everything was even more bright and even our faces had glowing dot's. "I bet I can beat you to that tree." Teyam says " you wish warrior boy" after that we raced all the way to a tree, as I was about to reach the tree he jumped and tackled me into the ground trying to prevent me from winning. We started pulling each other's tail and hair to win and eventually I won because my finger touched the tree "HAAH I WON!" I said jumping up and down happy I finally won against Neteyam "only because I let you win." he said while rolling his eyes "Yeah yeah" I said with a big smile while he side eyed me, I was still happy I won. 

     As we kept walking back to our home's we started actually looking at the plants my personal favorite was the loreyu plant, because they are huge but when you touch it, it makes a funny noise and then shrinks down like a (froomp) kinda noise. as we were walking a bunch of Atokirina'(woodsprite's) surrounded us they are so pretty the way they move and slowly rest as if they are deciding whether or not to be near you. I look over at Neteyam and see one of them on his nose, Hes looking at it so he's cross eyed and I fell to the floor and started laughing. Neteyam helped me up from my lugging fit off the ground after the Atokirina left. the sun was starting to rise so we hurried back before anyone can notice we were gone. "Goodnight My Tayem." I said imitating the way his mom call's his dad maJake, I loved when she did that cause it's her own nickname for him. "Goodnight My Ay'a see you tomorrow" after that I went to my hammock not excited to leave my home.
