Mr. KLYM IN CHERNOBYL

In the year 1977, there was Mr. Klym living with his family in Kiev, Ukraine. They belonged to a middle-class family and were living an unsophisticated life.

At that time, Ukraine was the part of Soviet Union.

At that time, an ordinance was passed by Soviet Union in which they planned to prefabricate a Nuclear Power Plant with four reactors in Chernobyl and a colony for the workers in Pripyat (town near to Chernobyl).

There was a burst of ecstasy among the people as there was no job with such high wages in Ukraine till that time.

Just like everyone, Klym family was also very happy and Mr. Klym decided to resign from the company in which he was working from last eighteen years to earn a great deal of Ukrainian hryvnia (currency of Ukraine) by working in Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Mr. Klym was also having a ten-year old son named Klym Borysko who was born in the year 1967.

Then, finally after the downtime of six years.

In 1983, all the four reactors were built and now many people began to peregrinate from different cities to Chernobyl including Klym family.

And, it took less than three days to get the no vacancy charter from Soviet Union.

Although, Mr. Klym was living near to Chernobyl, yet he applied for job in Chernobyl nuclear power plant too early.

But, he was not knowing that it would be his biggest mistake which will not only mutilate him. It will also affect his future generations.

Finally, in the month of December, Klym family got a room in Pripyat Labour Colony. Although, they were not alone as all the power plant workers got shelters in Pripyat itself.

On 29th January, 1984 Mr. Klym joined the nuclear power plant and started working hard for his family.

Similarly, the time passed.

On 25th April, 1986 at night Mr. Klym reached nuclear plant as always.

At that night, they were going to effectuate a routine test.

As the routine test began, the high-pressure warning was given but they ignored it.

And suddenly, the whole nuclear plant got struck with the sound of thwack in nuclear reactor- 4. Tons of radioactive particles got released in the atmosphere.

Due to the lack of strong communication facilities, Radioactive dust got spread to many cities and towns including Pripyat and it was too late to evacuate the people.

As the disaster occurred, Mr. Klym's body got melted because of highly inflated temperature and radiation.

His last words were, 'Save my family!'.

However, his family escaped from Pripyat.

Yet, they were not able to save their lives as they got cancer due to the high dose of radiation which pricked their skin severely and they received one of the worst cessations.
