I had courage,
But I did not have strength.
You held me
At an arm's length,
And I loved you too much to walk away.
So I held on desperately
Until you threw me away.
Even then, I tried to come crawling back
And just when you were about to take me,
After you had kicked me,
I stood on my own.
Alone.
I did not have courage,
But I had strength.
