I refuse to look back
At my horizon of broken dreams.
Instead, I look to the sky, the stars.
Behind me is dark,
But ahead of me is an unimaginable light.
I'm leaving you
Because you left me.
Behind me, you stand,
Fading.
Before me, she stands,
Unwavering.
Behind me are the scars and the hate.
In front of me, her fingers laced in mine.
It took a lot of time.
Here, laughter escapes, smiles grow.
Here, I am edging closer to happy.
