Remiss
By james a. galgano
I dwell on the edge of someone else's tomorrow
While sinking in the mire of my own ill-defined past
Time crawls into the tunnel of oncoming light
Leaving us alone without divining rod aghast
Never in one's drifting drug induced dreams could we believe
Our paths would have crossed eye into each other's view
You are dwelling on the outskirts of some storybook inner delight
While I found myself stumbling upon sweet angel smile askew
There was no even ill-conceived way this fleeting romance could ever be
Not in any book written till this most memorable day gone by
How would someone such as me ever hope to find such a sweet dream as you
Longing for your loving embrace while a captive of your angel eyes
Within your midst I breathe in all heavenly hope unforeseen
I forget all my timely faults and obvious imperfections
While longing for one moment of bliss to last a lifetime
Absolving my boundless love and desire for you and indiscretions
I peer over the ledge of unenviable sorrow where this path certainly leads
While ignoring all the warning signs flashing along each embrace
There life and love found me within the web of a dream come true
Lost within the eternal dream of the fleeting chance to taste your lips kiss your face
Here is where each memory meets forever upon a glimpse of tomorrow
Clinging to a hope you will pull me from my fleeting dreams afar
Unto the place where ine day dreams may impossibly come true
That is where my love awaits a slim hope to be affixed upon your elusive star
So here is where the cookie crumbles upon life's elusive page
While my dreams are cast asunder clinging to your intimate thought or desire
I am found wandering through what might have been or in my hopes will be
That is where I will forever be aflame lost upon your eternal fire
