Cheese Cake

It has been a couple of weeks since I was discharged from the hospital. The bandage on my right hand has been removed, leaving a small scar behind. Otherwise, I'm all healthy and well.

I didn't have much work to catch up today, but I still decided to book a studio room around 8pm after dinner to do some brainstorming for the upcoming projects.

I usually like to dim the light in the room a little, I work best in this environment. I played the keyboard randomly to see what kind of interesting melody I could create.

"HELLO BABIES! Let's start working, shall....eh? Chelsea?"

Suddenly someone barged into the room and shouted enthusiastically. I was shocked looking at the direction of the door.

"Oh so sorry, I must have entered to the wrong room." it was Jisung, he took a step back after he realised the room was occupied. He looked at his phone and the number plate at the door, seemed to be checking if he was at the right room.

"Uhm, just wondering, did you book this room for today?" asked Jisung.

"Uhm yes..." I took out my phone to double check on the booking system. I definitely had it booked. I looked through the other rooms in the application to see whether there was anymore vacancy, but apparently they were all fully booked.

"Maybe there is an error with the booking system. And unfortunately, all other rooms are shown to be occupied too." I explained.

I looked at him standing at the door, looking a little frustrated. It seemed like he was really in need of a work room.

"Jisung ah, how about this? I don't really have much to do today, you can use this room if you want to."

"Are you sure?" asked Jisung, with his eyes opened widely.

"Yes, I'm 100 percent sure." giving him a reassuring smile.

"Uhmm...alright, thank you so much Chelsea, I really need to use a studio room because I have some work to rush, which will be due by tomorrow early in the morning. I'm sorry for the inconvenience." said Jisung apologetically.

"I totally understand. Then, I guess I won't disturb you further, I will make a move now." I replied, starting to pack my belongings to leave while Jisung was putting his stuffs in place.

"Actually...Chelsea?"

"Yes Jisung?"

"I'm just wondering if... I could get a little help from you for my work please? I'm...kind of...stuck." he asked while smiling shyly.

There was something about those shimmering eyes and chubby cheeks of his, cute as a quokka. I wondered how could anyone say no to him when he looked so sincere with his request?

"Of course, I want to return my life saviour a favour too. So what is it about?" I put down my belongings and sat next to Jisung.

"YESSS thank you!" He exclaimed excitedly and started rummaging his bag to take out a few pieces of paper.

He showed me a few drafts of a song's lyrics.

"I'm basically done with the whole thing, but somehow I feel that it is still lacking of something, that something to especially spice up this part of the song." he explained while pointing to the chorus of the song.

I moved my chair nearer to Jisung so I could have a better look at the papers. Our shoulders were almost touching.

"Hmm, how about if you switch these two lines from the prechorus to the chorus and maybe repeat this again after the 5th line, so it rhymes and sounds more catchy?" I suggested while pointing my fingers to the parts I mentioned.

Jisung turned to look at me with his jaw opened, not saying a word.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry if I was rude to change your original idea. I didn't want to act smart, I know I'm just a rookie, I..." I explained nervously because I couldn't interpret his facial expression if he was mad or unhappy with my suggestion.

"THAT WAS GENIUS, CHELSEA!" he cheered while shaking my shoulders back and forth excitedly in his hands.

"Oh my god so sorry!" he suddenly realised what he was doing to me and retracted his hands. "I'm sorry I was too excited, but reallyyyy your idea was brilliant!"

"Hahaha, it's alright, I'm glad my input was helpful." I laughed at his adorable actions, he was thrilled yet trying to hold it in as well.

"I'm once again so impressed by your lyrics-writing skill. The lyrics that I saw on the paper you dropped the other day, I've never seen something like that before." said Jisung.

"You're just being too nice. I'm still a rookie and I still have so much to learn. You're my senior when it comes to songwriting and producing, the songs you've written are all famous worldwide. I'm the one who needs to learn from you." I replied.

"We should definitely do this more often, let's exchange opinions and learn from each other in many years to come! Can I be your friend, Chelsea?" Jisung put his hand out for a fistbump.

"I'm more than happy to be friends with you, Jisung." I said and fistbumped.

We both exchanged a friendly smile.

"Okay okay, how about the melody here? Should I do a C or C sharp at the end or.... " Jisung asked while playing the melody for the lyrics on the computer.

We continued to share ideas and trying to finalise the track he was going to submit until dawn.

*Yawn*
I woke up to the ray of sunshine through the window. I rubbed and opened my eyes, realising I fell asleep on the studio room's desk. Looking at the digital clock on the wall, it showed 8.17am.

It wasn't my first time falling asleep in a studio room, I guess it's a norm to a lot of people working in the entertainment industry, we often work at odd hours to get things done. It's not an easy job.

I tried to sit up straight to ease my sore neck after sleeping in an awkward position, and realised a leather jacket was wrapped around my back and shoulders.

Oh, now I recalled Jisung and I were here discussing about work until late at night. But I guess I fell asleep.

I pulled the collar of the leather jacket  near to my face to feel the warmth. It smelled familiar. It was Jisung's perfume, fresh and calming.

I then saw a note on the desk. It was handwritten.

"Hi Chelsea, thank you for staying up late to help with my work. I am sorry that I have to excuse myself to submit it to Mr Park now. I didn't want to wake you up from your sleep, you look like you're having a sweet dream. The weather is cold nowadays, so make sure to keep yourself warm and don't get sick. I hope you will enjoy the cheese cake I bought for you as breakfast, it is my favourite. This is my phone number 010-xxxx-xxxx. Please keep in touch. - Jisung"

I smiled reading the note and enjoyed savouring the cheese cake.

It tasted delicious, and sweet.
