Keira quickly mixed a variety of ingredients together, trying to remember the recipe in her panic.
She placed the elixir on the bunsenburner then looked over to where the sorceress layed on her sofa. Keira licked at her fingers, using her powers to moniter the poison in her veins.
Keira glanced back at the elixir, hoping it was finished boiling. It needed to be finished soon or else...
Keira went to sit down. Not much she could do but wait. The howler that was with the sorceress, Forest, laid on her arms across the table.
Forest had struggled to keep up with Keira on their way to the workshop, Keira wasn't sure why, howlers like her were supposed to be agile.
"Are you okay?"
Forest looked up. "Yeah, I'm just worried about Trixie"
Keira decided not to pry further. She took the flask off the flame and levitated the elixir out of it's container. She hovered the mixture in a position over Trixie's arm, in the shape of a needle. Forest looked nervously on from her seat.
She shot the elixir into Trixie's arm, her skin absorbing it as if it was a regular flu shot. Keira felt Trixie's forehead then sat back in relief, "She should recover. She will awaken in a bit."
Forest looked calmer, as if a huge weight lifted from her shoulder. They sat in silence for a bit. Keira wasn't sure if it was because Forest was tired or because they didn't know each other well.
She stood up and started putting away her flasks and ingredients, as a distraction. She wouldn't even bother to clean otherwise. But the thoughts kept spiraling in her head.
She was going to have to tell them about her mother. She was going to have to tell someone and they were the best options since they were Powerines like her.
She just wasn't sure how to bring the topic up.
Forest yawned. "Silent Death, that was the poison he used right?"
"Yes," Keira licked her fingers, they taste of the unicorn spit and charcoal she used in the cure. "It is a really dangerous poison because it appears like the victim just passed out and people would just assume it is nothing, but the poison can kill you in an hour's time."
"Wow," Forest said nervously. "No wonder those murders didn't catch anyone's attention until it was too late. Draco planned them out better then I thought."
"Speaking of the murders, I do not think Draco worked alone."
Forest gave another yawn. "What do you mean?"
A groan from the sofa stopped Keira before she could answer.
"What happened?" Trixie asked half-asleep.
"It's a long story, you see when-"
"Tell me later Forest. I just want to eat something first." Trixie streched as she stood. "I feel a bit dizzy."
"Now that you mention it, I'm hungry too." Forest
"I am sorry I don't really have any food here.....or money," Keira admitted.
"It's fine, I know this great place that just opened up." Trixie smiled. "My treat."
.....
"Trixie, are you sure about this?" Keira inspected herself in the mirror. "These clothes look really expensive."
"Come on, I insist."
Keira had fulled them in on the events that led to her running away while they walked to the mall. Throughout her recollection the other two girls gave her looks of pity. When she finished Trixie made sure to take her to go shopping.
