Cash ran to Lori.
"Are you alright?" he asked, untying her bonds.
She reached up and pulled his face to hers. They kissed. Lori opened her eyes and screamed.
Two bloody hands were clawing their way up over the lip of the concrete floor. Neither Cash nor Lori noticed.
"Cash!" she yelled. What are we going to do? A bomb's going to blow up this whole friggin' place!"
"We're getting out of here!" Cash said.
An animal grunt sounded behind them. They looked at the site where Coffin had slipped over. The old man was hoisting his monstrous body over the lip of the concrete.
"Cash! He's coming after us!"
Coffin lunged at Cash who was knocked backward on the hard concrete. The old man picked up a board and swung. It grazed Cash's forehead. He was knocked out. Coffin stood over Cash with the board high over his head, aiming for the death's blow. As the old man steadied himself, the fire of madness raged in his eyes. Coffin screamed and started to bring the weapon down into Cash's face.
Lori screamed.
A single shot rang out.
Coffin staggered back near the opened freight door and once again disappeared into the night.
