*casually drops another chapter of my crackfic before returning to our regularly scheduled programming*

Chikasa had a newfound invigoration coming back for her senior year. She had been waiting for this ever since her acceptance to the hero service program. This year, they were getting actual assignments. Well, interim assignments. They were getting assignments from the surrounding hero schools. Still, much like they were pre-grad hero servicers, their assignments were pre-grad heroes. This year's assignments could make or break careers.

There was only one thing standing in her way.

She hadn't seen Hina since before summer. She'd been training abroad the whole time. Chi tried not to be jealous, but it burned something furious inside her. She'd been training too, obviously, but she'd been limited to the other students in her year of the service program. They'd practiced conversation skills and studied various academic subjects and did activities that made them more cultured and worldly and fucked the shit out of each other, gathering as much feedback as humanly possible before final year exams on the first day. It would determine their rankings, and consequently, their assignments. Chi knew she was good. She'd always fought hard for her spot at the top of the class. For her, the only options for ranking were number one and number two. One of which would be her, the other would be Hina.

She needed to be number one. Chi had a strict plan that was going to be set the foundation for the rest of her life. She was shooting for UA, and she wanted Bakugo Katsuki.

He was so very clearly an asshole. Being his assigned servicer would probably be nothing short of hell. But it didn't matter. He'd won the past two sports festivals. He'd interned with Best Jeanist and Endeavor and was personally endorsed by All-Might. He basically had a sure-fire trajectory towards the upper half of the top ten list in the next five years, and short of severe injury or disaster, he'd stay there for at least ten. Having someone like that on her service resume would send her reputation skyrocketing. It was worth whatever bullshit the position would put her through.

It excited her just thinking about it.

"Chichan!"

Hearing that nickname broke her out of her daydream. Only one person in the world called her that. Chi took a slow breath and pushed a kind smile onto her face. Luckily for the hero service students, most of their job was slipping into a role and putting on an act, so they were all pretty good at it.

"Hinachan!"

Chi tossed her bag aside and threw her arms open. When she turned around, the glowing blonde was already running towards her, and threw herself into her friend's arms. She wrapped her arms around Chi's neck so tightly, Chi might have thought she was trying to strangle her, if it wasn't for the immediate calm that came over her from being this close to Hina.

"I missed you so much!" Hina wailed right into Chi's ear.

"I missed you too!" Chi promised, squeezing harder. "How are you? How was your summer?"

Hina released Chi then. Her neck, anyways. She gripped her hands around her forearms, her pale yellow eyes going orange with excitement. She was going to look Chi in the face while she bragged. She wanted to watch her pretend to be amazed and excited for her.

"It was amazing!" Hina paused to sigh. "Chi, you have no idea! People are the mainland are so friendly. And so much fun! It was so. Much. Fun!"

"Ahh!" Chi shook her friend's arms a little, nodding and jumping up and down. She was really selling it. This was perfect; it was all a part of her plan. She wanted Hina to go into exams overconfident. "That sounds amazing! Did you learn a lot?"
