"Can't you put in a good word? Your boyfriend is literally the cause of the pet system," A girl spoke up angrily as a group of pets surrounded the blonde who looked annoyed.

Naruto sighed. "Lady I don't make the rules, sure as hell ain't changing them. Go pick it up with the Student Council," He snarled but they weren't satisfied.

As they continued talking over each other and begging the blonde to have Shikamaru change the rules Naruto laughed at him. It was one of those laughs a villain makes because they know they've won. Naruto calmed down and chuckled a bit to himself. "You're a bastard!" One boy screamed at him.

"Oh?" Naruto narrowed his gaze at the male who paled when those locked down on him. "I'm the bastard?"

"Wait-" Another tried to save the situation but it was too late as Naruto jumped the student and knocked him against the wall before pulling his knife. The air was tense as Naruto held the knife right under the student's right eye.

"You all knew what you were signing up for when you came to this school," His voice was hollow, and the hair on their necks stood up. "Where was this when I was a house pet? I didn't hear anyone coming to cheer me up when I got tagged. You all laughed and went along because those were the rules right? But now that you're all in debt and the one who you scorn leveled up you want to come crawling to me to ask my owner for reprieve."

They all looked away in discomfort because Naruto was right. All of the pets before him were his classmates, he was the only one that wasn't in debt. "You must think I'm a fool, save you? How absurd," He laughed again. "You all went along with the rules because it didn't bother you and you enjoyed the misery of others but now that the tables have switched all of a sudden it's inhumane. Get over yourself, other house pets aren't behaving like you all, grow a spine, the world isn't fair you just have to be lucky."

He began to walk away but not before swinging back around and slashing the student who insulted him in the eyes. He laughed as the walked away from the screaming male to the student council office. He entered and was taken to the large television above the door that showed that hallway. The students were rushing around to get towels and mops to clean the mess up and put pressure on the now-blind student's eyes as they called for medical help.

Shikamaru was smiling and that was enough for Naruto. He closed the door, distracting them from the bloody scene above as he made his way over to Shikamaru and kneeled at his feet, his clothes had speckles of blood but he was smirking. Shikamaru ruffled his hair. "You know your place better than some other people," Naruto couldn't see who Shikamaru was staring at but the praise made him preen.

The council members glanced at the blonde in Shikamaru's lap who looked to have gone into a short nap. They were uneasy, while everyone here was loyal to Shikamaru everyone knew it was to a certain extent, even Shikamaru knew that he ruled through somewhat intimidation. But this blonde was different.

"Naruto's my bitch, he's loyal to a fault."

Those were Shikamaru's words and the blonde had proved it. Whether it be Queen or House Pet Naruto didn't care, he just stayed by Shikamaru's side. Even if he bares his fangs at Shikamaru, it was by Shikamaru's will that he bares his fangs for him. Naruto better than anybody understood the hierarchy, he is aware that he was above them, Shikamaru being the one over him. He didn't bow to them but he bowed to Shikamaru because that's how it's supposed to be. Naruto lived in reality and he wasn't afraid of the rules of that reality but they were and that's what set Naruto apart from them and that may be the reason why Shikamaru was so fond of him.

He was probably the only person romantically who could bow his head to Shikamaru fearlessly. The only person who could handle the depths of madness behind Shikamaru's eyes because he was just the same. A sick twisted pair of soulmates.

Shikamaru was fixated on Naruto's peaceful expression as he slept. "We are dismissed," Shikamaru announced as the bell rang. The council all got up and headed to class, leaving the pair alone. Once they were alone Shikamaru gazed at Naruto. "You know, you have a special way of making me excited."

"I would hope so, I have to keep you entertained," Naruto opened his eyes, his gaze mischievous. "You know they planned it right?"

"Get you to admit that you're beside me for personal benefit? Of course," Shikamaru tilted his head up and kissed him. "But you know our bond."

Naruto back arched as he took Shikamaru's kisses. "Your loyal pet," He murmured against his lips.

"You've been so submissive lately," Shikamaru noted.

"Power is in the hand of the one who bows," Naruto purred.

To some extent Naruto was right, he didn't have any power, to begin with, but bowing to Shikamaru does hand him power. The power over everybody else, nobody could touch Naruto but Shikamaru. "I wonder how you will wield this power."

"To make my master proud," Naruto said this easily like it was all he ever wanted to do but Shikamaru knew better. Naruto wasn't submissive.

"Are you comfortable?"

The question caught Naruto off guard but the blonde pondered the question for a long moment before shrugging. "I've never been comfortable."

Shikamaru smiled. "I would like to make you comfortable, then strip it away to see how you would react."

Naruto chuckled at his idea. "I would probably tear this entire school apart. Hmm? Maybe that's why I've never been comfortable with you completely."

"Your survival instincts keep you alive and well."

"That's why they're called survival instincts."
