N POV.
Both tails and Sonic were standing on the toilet shaking as the screaming and gunshots continued. Sonic took out his phone and texted silver.
Sonic: hey silvy, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to go home. There's a school shooting at the college and it sounds like he's really close and I don't think I'm going to survive. Just know that I love you and you have been the best boyfriend I could've asked for.
Sonic sent the message with shaky hands as he cried. His phone buzzed and he looked at it.
Silver: omg, honey where are you?
Sonic: in a bathroom stall hiding with tails. I'm so scared.
Silver: stay there and stay quiet. I love you and stay safe. I'm going to drive over there and pick u up.
Both students got quite when the bathroom door swung open. Footsteps echoed through the seemingly empty bathroom. The shooter was wearing a mask with black pants and a black shirt stained with blood. He started busting open every stall until he reached their stall. "I know y'all are in there. Come out and I'll make sure y'all's deaths are quick and painless. "Go away!" Sonic yelled. The shooter started to break down the door. Eventually, the lock broke and he got in. Sonic and tails screamed and got off the toilet. They were able to push passed the shooter and made a run for the door. Suddenly, Sonic's quills were yanked causing him to fall back and scream. "Sonic!!!" Tails yelled and tried to save Sonic.
BANG!
Tails fell as the bullet wound in his head began to bleed. Sonic screamed and began to cry harder. The shooter pinned him against the wall making Sonic's back quills bend. "I'm sorry lapis, but he made me do it" he said. Sonic froze and stared wide-eyed at the shooter. Only one person called him that nickname, Silver didn't call him it because of his ex.
"SHADOW!?!?".
