OUTSIDE, THE HARSH FALL AIR NIPPED AT ROMAN'S SKIN. she barely had time to put on her jacket before matt was obnoxiously honking his horn right outside the building. she made sure to note that he was a very punctual person, the one thing about him that she could respect.
quickly bidding her goodbyes to her coworker, gabe, who was standing with her to quote unquote make sure she "got home safe".
she got in the passengers side, her eyes landing everywhere else except on the boy sitting in the drivers seat as she fastened her seat belt. her eyes stayed focused out the big window to the right of her, watching as gabe struggled to light a cigarette in the night air.
"i got chris' food," she spoke into the quiet, not expecting an answer. but then she grew sheepish as she said the next line, "i also got you a fortune cookie...as um... a thanks? i'm not sure if you like them."
