'I fucking hate history...' Our protagonist Alex thought once more. It was three weeks into the school year and he'd finally got around to establishing himself in the school.
No longer was Alex the weak mutant kid, but he was a strong force – See, "Freak" – of nature. In the three weeks he'd been training, gathering experience, improving skills, and finally getting a gacha ticket.
Opening up the [Gacha Function] tab in the system interface, he put his one ticket to use. His gut twisting in anticipation as he nervously watched the randomizer go.
[PING!]
[Received Skill [Hamon Control] ]
Opening up the new skill screen brought a small smile to his face.
[Hamon Control – Level One (Active)
Through controlled breathing the user can manipulate energies fundamental to the universe. Using the same. energy the sun gives off to create a variety of abilities.
Cost — 50 Stamina points per second]
'Bingo' Alex thought, it was one of the first skills he had gotten that wasn't related to his quirk. It was invigorating truly, it gave him another direction to grow in. The one major downside is that it had a steep cost, he just had to level it and hope the cost became small enough for effective combat.
"So Alex, tell me. How did people before quirks handle crime rates?" The teacher asked, looking dead at Alex with a smug smile.
"People used to rely heavily on the police, military, FBI, CIA, and SPEC Ops forces. Crime used to be much higher back before heroes." Alex replied, though seeming confident in his answer he was truthfully crossing all his fingers and counting all his lucky stars.
"Correct, now can anyone tell me some of the key details to World War III?" As the teacher continued the lesson Alex set back to his own mind. He spent the rest of the class trying to work on the [Hamon] skill. In the thirty minutes left of class he had managed to get the skill to level up a few times and get a new perk and skill from his use.
[(Perk) Beginner Hamon User
When using Hamon energy your body heals faster.
300% Increase in Health Regeneration]
[Body Extension – Level Five
Through continuous practice of Hamon you have gained the ability to lengthen any body parts connected by joints.

[Hamon Control – Level 6

Stamina Cost — 45 points per second]
Over all, it was an amazing boost in just thirty minutes if he did say so himself. The healing boost he got from his new Perk meant he could potentially have a bare minimum of 75% Hp recovery as long as he was using Hamon.

"We are leaving, I'm sorry Alex. I just got a new job offer out of country. Tomorrow morning we'll be moving to the United Kingdom." Alex's father said as they say across from each other.
Alex, whom sat on the sofa, looked dead into his father's eyes. "Dad, with all due respect. You can't just spring something like this on me and expect me to be okay with it..."
"Honey listen, you would have argued with us and tried to talk us out of moving if we had mentioned it earlier which is why we waited." Alex's mother said leaning against the doorway to the living room with a sad look in her eye.
"Which is why I have a proposition for you. Your mother is very much against the idea, but I think that you've shown that you're mature enough to live on your own. I'm willing to give you the option of getting you what we can now. Since we live near the middle of town you won't have to worry about getting to and from school or the supermarket. We can get you an application put in for a job and-" As his father was halfway through his statement Alex cut him off.
"I'll take you up on the offer, I'll be fine living here on my own so you guys don't need to worry about me. I'll be sure to call you both every Saturday if that's alright with you." Alex said, his eyes resting on the wooden floor as he wrung his wrist in nervousness. He would miss his family a lot but the system had made it a point that he wasn't allowed to move without it's consent.
"NO!!! You can-" His mother was caught off as his father raised his hand in a motioning silence.
"Love, you can't protect our boy forever. We both know that, don't you think it's time you let him spread his wings a little bit?" His father asked, looking at her. His own eyes relaying a message to his lover. 'This is hard on me too...' Tears had made their way to his eyes, though his voice never betrayed him as he spoke in a tone void of emotion.
"F-Fine..." Alex's mother said as her own tears slowly began to seep out of her eyes as she made her way to her husband and taking a seat beside him.
'I'm sorry mother...father...I can't leave with you, even if I wanted to.' With that thought passing through him, [Gamer's Mind] forced itself active. Destroying all sadness and anguish that he felt.
Getting up, Alex left the room and shutting the door gently behind himself. As the door shut he deactivated the mind altering passive and let himself feel sadness, tears rolled down his face as he slowly made his way to his room and fell into a heap on his bed.
He sobbed loudly, feeling no shame as his parents did the same down in his living room.
After a while, sleep finally sat itself upon the boy who was gifted with a dreamless slumber.
