"I brought you a plant," you announced as you walked into his office, placing said plant on the corner of his practically empty desk. You'd been staring at the dull desk for months now and it added a whole other level of depression to the job.

"I didn't want a plant," Matt noted as he sat back in his chair, amusement dipping into his lips as you sighed.

"You didn't want one, but you needed one," you informed him, tilting your head before moving it to the other side of the table. "It doesn't smell like anything, I double-checked, so it won't irritate your sensitive sinuses."

"Sweetheart," he began, knowing it was the only way to get your attention, eyes snapping up from the soft green leaves as they cascaded onto the wood. "What if I forget to water it?"

"I'll water it for you, you know, like how I do everything else for you," you bit back with a smirk, leaning over the desk to fix his hair, momentarily getting distracted by how soft it was before pulling away. "Speaking of, I ordered you some lunch, I know you haven't eaten since yesterday."

"I'm not hungry," he protested, though he knew if was futile, smiling as he adjusted his tie.

"I don't care, it'll be here in ten minutes and I don't want to hear it," you commanded and he scoffed, shaking his head as you strutted out of his office.

"You're lucky you're cute," he spoke into his desk phone as he pushed down on the button, your steps coming to a halt as you zipped around to look at him.

"Wait, you think I'm cute?" your voice was high, eyes large as you stared him down, Matt simply shrugging as his fingers searched for his papers once again.

"Get back to work, sweetheart."
