Hey angels! I hope you have a great day/night~

Taehyung looked at the woman in front of him before looking real quick at Hoseok, signaling him to start recording the conversation. Once the device indicated that everything was being recorded, the blond proceeded to look over the questions he had prepared. After giving it a second thought though he put the papers aside and fixed all his attention on Lucy's mother.

"Please let me know if you feel uncomfortable or if you need a break."

Yes, he needed answers to his questions as soon as possible in order to find her daughter but he still needed to be careful about the way he asked certain questions and consider her feelings. He might be a lost cause when it came to dealing with feelings and he might also be a jerk with most people but he wasn't a heartless monster or something.

Not expecting to be treated with such care, the woman seemed to be taken back and could only nod. Even though she didn't say anything, both Taehyung and Hoseok could tell by the look in her eyes that she was thankful.

She was just like an open book.

And Taehyung could only hope she would be so easy to read during the interview too.

Not that he wasn't good at reading people. He was really good at that actually. But he had to focus on more important things in order to connect the dots in his head. In order to read between the lines.

People have no idea how much information their body language can give away. It could tell everything you do not want to tell or indicate. It was like trying to keep a secret around a kid... it was almost impossible.

"The first question is related to her social life. Does she have any enemies or people in her circle that would want to harm her in any way?"

"No, there is no way. Everyone loves her. She is caring and loving and helped everyone out, it never really mattered what was wrong. She was always ready to help. She was like that ever since she was little... it didn't matter whether it was a person or an animal."

"Mommy, mommy! Look what I found!"

Lucy went running into the house, breathing heavily. In her small arms there was a kitten. Her fur was snow white and seemed to be so soft. Her eyes looked like 2 black pearls and those 4 little paws were clinging on for dear life on the delicate material of Lucy's hoodie.

"Oh, poor kitty. She doesn't seem to feel too well."

"I bet she caught a cold. Mommy, remember that time when I didn't get my jacket and it was cold outside? I was sick for over a week!"

Lucy pouted as she remembered the events from 3 weeks ago and complained to her mother. That little girl was convinced the kitty needed a jacket or something warm to wear. Her mom laughed, already mentally preparing to have a cat although she wasn't the biggest fan of them. But for her daughter she would do anything.

"Mommy..."

Lucy got closer to her mom and grabbed onto her sleeve, looking up at her with cute, adorable puppy eyes.

"Yes, love?"

"Could we maybe keep the kitty? It's cold outside and she doesn't feel well. I'm sure she doesn't even have a family..."

Her mom laughed and brushed a few strands of her hair behind her ear. Her daughter had a big heart, there was no doubt of that but she was afraid that would make her vulnerable in the future, once she has grown up. There is no doubt that this world is a cruel place, where people commit crimes and do what they can to live a decent life. Some of them do it out of pleasure and in her opinion, those were the worst.

It was easy to say that her mom was worried about the kind of world her daughter is going to live in, especially once she will be gone or way too old to protect her. She could only hope things will change for the better.

"Of course we can keep the kitty. But mommy won't be the only one taking care of her, alright? She is your responsibility as well. You are going to have to take care of her."

Lucy's eyes widened and sparkled in excitement, resembling the sky full of small and shiny stars they were adoring last night. She hoped that the innocence and happiness her daughter had will never have to vanish.

"Okay!"

The woman wiped a tear as she remembered how they ended up having their first pet.

The blond was patient, giving the woman in front of him the time she needed to calm down a bit. After offering a tissue, with the woman's agreement they went on. Talking about her daughter was harder than she thought it would be.

"Did she always take the same route every time she went running?"

The woman nodded her head before proceeding to speak.

"Our neighborhood is safe so she always went running close to the house. She would take right as soon as she stepped out of the house, after 2 streets she took a right turn, after 3 streets another right turn and she would make her way back home. If she wanted to run for longer she would just redo the same route."

Taehyung wrote down everything, thankful for the details the woman was able to give them.

"Around what time does she go out?"

The woman seemed to think a little before answering.

"Around 10pm. She has classes in the afternoon and in the morning she's busy with homework so she doesn't have time to go earlier."

After several other questions about her daily routine, her friends and her school Taehyung put an end to the interview.

"Thank you for coming. We will do our best to find Lucy as soon as possible."

The woman smiled, already knowing that she and her daughter were in good hands.

As she was making her way to the door she suddenly stopped and turned to look at the two men, hearing how the blond gave orders to have officers go to Lucy's friends and ask them whatever was written on the papers that was handed to the other.

With small steps she made her way back, looking at Taehyung with curiosity. It took a few seconds for the two male to notice her presence and once they did they stopped talking.

"Do you need anything?"

Lucy's mother smiled at Hoseok and said that she only wanted to ask a question. She turned all her attention to Taehyung and took a step closer.

"Why didn't you ask what she was wearing last night?"

Taehyung knew what she meant. When a girl gets raped or kidnapped people usually blame it on the way she dresses and justify it saying that she was asking for it. But that wasn't like that at all. At least that's not what people should think about this topic.

Even though just thinking about that pissed him off, the blond did his best to keep a neutral expression, not letting a single emotion slide.

"Because the clothes a girl wears aren't an excuse or an invitation to be raped, having someone harassing her or say that she was asking for it. Everyone has the right to wear whatever they feel confident wearing. It's those people who 'can't' control themselves, the ones who need someone to teach them how to behave."

Lucy's mom was in pure shock. She heard those words from so many women but never, not even once from a man.

Without giving it a second thought, she grabbed Taehyung's hands and held them tightly while looking at him with admiration.

"From the point of view of the mother, you have no idea how much those words mean to me."
