Give Me Something To Dream About

Today is my first official day, nothing like starting in at the deep end, I thought I would maybe have a day or two to get settled out here, but the first show is this evening. I'm meeting with Andy this morning to talk about everything to do with the tour and my role.

I feel a lot less tired this morning, but I am glad our breakfast meeting is at nine thirty and not any earlier, so I have a lot of time to get ready. No rushing for me, I hate rushing around trying to get ready, I always like to be up early to give myself plenty of time.

I get a shower and wash my hair before trying to decide what to wear. My suitcase is lying open on my floor, and I'm on my knees in front of it trying to find clothes that I want to wear. I've brought a lot of jeans and T-shirts, assuming that would be the most comfortable of outfits to wear. I pick out a pair of light wash jeans and a plain black top, keeping it casual ad simple.

Andy is waiting for me when I get to the restaurant for breakfast, I'm not late, I'm right on time and so is he. I sit down and he goes over everything straight away, the travel schedule that I already have, but he goes over it in such detail and I'm so glad to have this, because it's honestly a lot, the tour lasts months and we are going to so many different place.
He gives me a pass that I'll need for being backstage, I'll have to get one from security at each venue but this is a basic one that I'll always need. We go over my job role very specifically, he seems to be the tour manager that manages a lot of aspects of the crew, he's really nice and friendly, I'm very happy with him being my boss.

I ask all the questions that I need to ask and he makes sure that I know what I'm doing before my first day really starts. I'll be heading to the arena in the afternoon and I'll be on the clock from basically the minute I arrive, there'll be a children's playroom type of thing backstage and that's where I'll be with the kids. The parents will either be working backstage, or onstage during the show.

By the time the breakfast meeting is over I am more confident and less nervous, I know what I need to do.

I go back up to my hotel room, it's still only late morning so I have enough time to head out for a bit before the cars that will take us to the venue arrive at the hotel, I'm not the type of person who likes to be inside for long, especially not when I'm in a new part of the world. I don't plan on going far, just a walk around this area, I googled last night and Central Park is close by, it's huge but I want to at least visit it.

I grab a coffee from the Starbucks next door and stroll along the street, I come to Central Park quite quickly. The last thing I want to do is get lost and end up late so I don't venture too far,it's so nice though, the weather is crisp, but not cold, just nice for a walk in the park.

For lunch I get a slice of pizza from a pizza place on my walk back to the hotel, it's almost the size of my head, I'm glad I didn't order two. But it is delicious, I guess the New York pizza lives up to the hype I've heard and read about it.

When I get back to the hotel I get my bag of things I thought I might need from my room, I've packed a backpack with some essentials like a change of clothes, toiletries and some tablets I might need incase I ever get a headache or tummy cramps or anything, it might be silly but I just want to have some things with me, just incase.

When I get back down to the lobby I spot Harry again, he's just walking out of the staff elevator and across the lobby, I'm walking from the normal elevators and wonder if I should stop to let him get all the way across first, but that's silly, I'm not that close to him, no one has even noticed me.

He gets taken to a car straight away, of course. I see Fi and kind of make my way towards her, giving her a friendly smile and relaxing when she gives me one back and starts to chat about how I've got on since arriving.

"All good, I managed to sleep a good bit and I took a walk around the area earlier, it's been nice." I tell her.

She smiles, "that's good, now the chaos begins." She grins and then giggles, "I'm just joking, it's all good, this is such a chill tour, I'm sure you'll love it. Everyone is friendly, it becomes like a little family, you'll get to know everyone and it'll be so nice."

I smile and nod, "I really hope so."

I get to go in a car with Fi and a few others, which is nice, at least I'll know someone, I'm kind of excited and nervous, I don't really know what to expect, my role isn't really part of the tour and crew the way others is, like I have nothing to do with the show or Harry, but it's still huge, and I'm excited to be a tiny little part of it.

Maddison Square Garden is ginormous, it's amazing, I'm in awe as I walk inside, Andy told me there'll be signs on all the doors so I'll know which room is for me and the kids, but backstage is massive, I got my pass from security and I'm wondering around, eventually coming to the play room. Mollie is already there with her mum Kelly, she's another of the tour managers, part of the very important team, I met her at the interviews, she's really lovely.

"Hi." I said softly when k walk in, "hello Mollie." I grin at the little girl, she has the cutest little space buns in her blonde hair, she looks up at me and grins back, thankfully, she's excited to see me, it seems like she recognises me.

"You pway wif me?" She asks, toddling over to me.

I nod, "absolutely, I can't wait to play with you." I tell her, "we'll have lots of fun." I tell her and look at her mum.

"I've been telling her she'll get to play with you and do lots of fun things, she should be absolutely fine, but just to prepare her, you know?" Kelly says with a smile.

I nod, "oh yeah, of course. We'll have the most fun." I say.

She nods, "I unfortunately can't stick around, but you have the number yeah?" She asks me.

I nod, "yes, all saved in my phone." I confirm, I got a list of emergency numbers at the final interview when they told me I got the job, the parents and some others too, just incase.

"Perfect." She smiles, she says goodbye and kisses Mollie, "have fun you two, I'm sure I'll pop in and out if I get a minute, and Finn will be here soon, I'm sure." She says and leaves.

"Well Mollie, what shall we do first?" I smile and kneel down on the mat on the floor, close to where she is.
