A Memory is the ingredient of a story born from loss; A story is the fabrication of truths and memories. Loss is just the fork in the road; Your heart is but a fragile fruit"

It wasn't even an hour that they were there at the Crash Site, Theta Squad was called in by Command to head to Settlement 2 to assist with the Evacuation of Civilians. Corporal Harper, Pvt Rose, Frai, Halz along with their Sergeant were seated in the King Raven. They were quiet after Harper had informed Greihound about Yin's death, even more so when he gave him Yins COG Tags, still stained with the Lieutenants fresh blood that stained the metal and string.

"Think he's alright?" Frai asked Harper, leaning a little more close to him.

"Probably not. As far as I'm aware, they were close, long time friends probably." Harper answered, looking at their Sarge, who was carefully holding the Cog Tags in his hands, zoning out. Greihound closed his blue eyes for a few seconds, taking a deep breath and looked at Halz.

"Get the Door" He ordered, as Halz stood up opening the door, which the four of them, except greihound gazed at the fire that was spreading around the settlement.

"Looks like Delta's Raven Went down!" The pilot of KR-047 pointed out as they passed by a King Raven that had crashed into a building, with two Gears moving into it from the roof. Halz's attention was caught from the loud roar of a Swarmak ahead of them.

"And I think I know what hit 'em!" Halz exclaimed while quickly starting to shut the door.

"Oh Fuc-!" Frai was about to say though the Raven shook hard and spiraled out of control from the Swarmak hitting the tail of it, as each of them braced for impact. The King Raven crashed through a couple roofs, and then stopped with half of the King Raven just hanging off the edge of the building they crashed on. Theta quickly scrambled to get out of the King Raven, though only Harper noticed the front of the Raven was busted open, and the Pilot was still alive inside as the King Raven slowly started to slide off the roof.

Harper—Settlement 2

"Grab my hand!" I yelled out to the Pilot after I had ran back to the King Raven noticing him still alive in it. I could see him struggling to move as a piece of the hull had broken off and sticking out of the side of his abdomen. He groaned as he reached out with his hand. 'Cmon, almost... aallmmoosstt....' I thought to myself, before I was finally able to grab ahold of his hand quickly pulling him out of the cockpit as the Raven slid off the roof while the Pilot and I were on our backs.

"That.... Was a close one.... Argh...." The Pilot groaned, while sitting up as the sound of the Raven crashing on the ground was heard. I groaned as I sat up, before standing and helping him stand.

"Too Close" I Replied. "Harper, you?"

"David...." He replied. ".....David Kinderson"

"Ain't gonna lose a good pilot yet" I stated as I looked to see how everyone else was doing, to which they were okay.

"Corporal, We got a Evac convoy nearby that needs assistance" Our Sarge informed me. I had asked about our Pilots situation, which he took a few moments to think. "He can board one of the Transports when we get there. Lets move it Gears, but slowly, the building is unstable" He answered as we began to head down into the building through a hole in the roof. Rose helped me with getting David down the hole before we moved on.
