Chapter One

Chapter One.

"Talia" Mischa Bachinski would always talk about her. Now, who was Talia? Noel Gurber did not know, and he wished to know. Noel was jealous of this Talia Mischa would always speak of. Talia was Mischa's "fiancee" from his home back in Ukraine. Noel didn't believe that she was his fiancee, but he did believe Talia and Mischa have some sort of romantic relationship. And that's what made Noel jealous. Talia, a beautiful girl, with whom an even more beautiful man is in love with. Noel was furious. Noel was beautiful, but not enough for Mischa to even glance in his way in the way Noel wanted him to. "God oh god why do I have to suffer like this, Penny?" Noel complains to Penny about this constantly. Penny didn't mind this one bit. She was happy that someone else would want to talk to her other than her teachers, or just the talk from their choir. Noel went out of his way to make Penny feel welcome, and Noel went out of his way to be friends with Penny, unlike the rest of the kids in the choir. So the least she could do was listen to Noels' complaints. "Right, you don't deserve to suffer... But, you are chasing after a man who is in love with someone else, not only that, but he's in love with a woman." Penny had told him this over, and over, and over. But she doesn't mind that either. Penny would play with Noel's hair, as he leans up against her and complains. Noel found this comforting, something an older sister would do, or if his mother was ever there to listen to him complain. "We should get ready to go, the bell is about to ring." Noel sighed. "You're still coming over, right Penny?" Penny smiled and nodded. "Yup! We just need to pick up my things from my house first, if that's okay. Otherwise, I can call my mother to come to pick me up to grab it and then bring me over." Noel shook his head, "No, I can drive to your house! It'll be much faster that way." Penny smiled and stood up, collecting her things. "Noel..." Penny whispers. "Don't look behind you, but Mischa is coming over here." She warns her friend, hoping he wouldn't snap his head around. To her luck, he didn't. Maybe Mischa would just walk past them. Not to her luck, he didn't. "Hello Noel, Penny!" Mischa said with a thick Ukrainian accent. Noel jumps from the sudden and loud noise. "Hello Mischa, you seem to be in a good mood," Noel says trying to avoid eye contact with him. Mischa shrugs. "I guess. Talia has not been answering me. So I am not sure how I am feeling right now. I just see you two, my friends and it brought my mood up!" Penny laughs, "Well, I'm glad we could do that." Noel nods in agreement. "Do you have anything going on later?" Penny asks, trying to make conversation so it's a little less awkward for Noel. "Yes, Talia will hopefully call me tonight!" Mischa claps happily. "That's great Mischa. Penny, we gotta go get your things. Come on" Noel tugs on Penny's sleeve trying to drag her away from Mishca. Penny laughs awkwardly. "Okay, see you later Mischa!" she says while being pulled away. Noel and Penny walk in silence until they get to Noel's car. "You were a little rude this time, Monique" Penny teases Noel with that name. Noel had told Penny all about his dreams and fantasies of Monique Gibeau. Penny was very drawn into these dreams. She thought they were very interesting. But she was also a little sad for her friend, who would much rather live out this tragedy than his life currently. But she still loved to tease him with the 'nickname' nonetheless. "I know, I've realized. I just can't stand to hear him talk about her!" He sighs. "Well, I know Noel. But, that's no need to be rude. I understand what you're feeling though." She smiles at Noel. "Let's just go, yeah?" Noel grins and hands Penny the aux cord after he starts the car. "Yeah, let's go." Penny plugs in the aux, playing the "Super, Epic, Awesome Buddy" Playlist they have made together. A wild range of songs on it considering it contains both of their music tastes on it. They pull up to Penny's home, Penny quickly jumps out of the car and runs inside grabbing her things and running back out in less than a minute. "Goddamn Penny, that was the fastest yet." Noel laughs. "I know, phew! I'm out of breath..." Penny pants, buckling back up. Starting their playlist, they then take off to Noel's home.

Hi, this is my first (published) fan-fiction.
I'm sure you may have noticed, but Jane is referred to here as Penny. As well as her being Noels best friend. I cannot guarantee this being 100% cannon with how the characters behave, especially Noel since I have to mess with it my own way to fit the storyline. If you have any suggestions, please let me know so I can take them into consideration.
