-Third POV-

It was a quiet afternoon in the beginning of January, 2017. It was snowing outside, so many people had stayed at home to keep warm and spend time with their families.

All except a few, Y/n being one of those few. They decided to use the lack of people on the streets to their advantage, going to their favourite spot to get a warm drink and work. They were currently writing their third novel. They were a decently popular (genre) writer with an average following, despite only writing two books so far. They wrote under the pseudonym Makkuro (真 っ 黒), or Pitch Black. They liked working when it was quiet, it helped them focus.

The bell of the door rung, catching their attention, there wasn't many people in the shop, and a habit Y/n has is checking the number of people whenever they heard the bell. It originally started as a well for them to calculate the busiest and slowest days, but they never stopped doing it.

The young man who looked about Y/n's age that walked inside caught their attention for a reason they couldn't pick out. He was a shortish, stocky man wrapped in a nice looking coat and scarf. He had black hair combed and styled to the side, the apples of his cheeks and the tip of his nose dusted a rosey colour from the cold outside, he looked a little plain compared to the people they saw a lot of the time, but there was something about him that made it hard to look away. Their eyes followed him as he walked up to the counter and was waited on. At some point, the man seemingly felt their stare and looked their way, causing them to sheepishly duck back onto their computer, acting like they were still working to avoid looking like a creep of something.

As the man moved out of the way to wait for his order, the young writer got an idea, walking over to get themselves some napkins from the counter, they past by the man that held their thoughts captive at the moment. They didn't want to embarrass themselves, so they looked over at him, clearing their throat they went to say something, but the man's order arrived and he promptly walked out after paying. They sighed as they missed their chance to speak to him, sadly going back to their work.

*timeskip*

The next time Y/n saw the man was at that same coffee shop about a week or so after the first. Y/n was standing in line for their usual order, and the man had, coincidentally been right after them, looking around them at the menu. They wanted to turn around and speak to him, but they were called up to the counter to order, standing to the side after ordering, they heard him speak. His voice was rough, it was really deep too, which made him even more attractive in Y/n's opinion. In listening to him, they learned his name was Hayashida Haruki, a really nice name in their opinion.

He stood beside them, waiting as well, and they could swear that they caught him staring a couple times. They tried to work up the courage to say something, but they just couldn't, so they gave up, now that they've seen him twice, they're sure he'll show up again. They got their order and sat down to continue to work on their book, watching in their peripherals as the man, now known as Hayashida got his order and left, sparing one last glance towards the enby.

*timeskip*

The third time they saw Hayashida, he had actually gotten there before them, they had been running late, and when they got to the shop, they didn't have a coat on, their hair was messier than normal, and they were just a mess. They shivered as they walked towards the counter, and got their usual order, when it was time to pay, they patted their pockets to find they had also forgotten their wallet at home as well. They sighed, about to tell the cashier to forget about it, when Hayashida spoke up beside them.

"How much was it? I'll pay," he offered, opening up his wallet.

Y/n tried to defer, "you don't have to sir, I can come back later." They were embarrassed to have their first conversation end in him paying for them.

"Don't worry about it, I'm sure you would do the same, " he smiled, making them blush slightly, they bowed to him

"Th-thank you sir! I will make sure to repay you!" They were extremely grateful

He paid for the order, pulling Y/n to the side, scratching the back of his neck and smiling sheepishly, "no need to pay me back. You look like you're having a bad day, so don't worry about it."

Y/n thought for a second, "Well, if I can't pay you back, maybe you'd like to join me for coffee, if it wouldn't be too much trouble?" They ran a hand through their hair nervously.

A small blush coated his face, "sure, that would be nice."

"Sweet, how about this Saturday, we meet here, about noon?" They suggested

"Works for me."

Then they realised, "I never introduced myself, I'm L/n Y/n, nice to meet you."

"I'm Hayashida Haruki, but people just call me Pah-chin," He responded.

"Very unique!"

*Timeskip*

After that, Y/n and Pah-chin started talking more, they exchanged numbers and took their hang outs outside the coffee shop, often times Y/n would read excerpts of their stories to Pah, and he would pretend to understand. Eventually, Pah asked Y/n out on an official date, and introduced them to his friends as his partner. Peh-yan had taken the longest to get along with them, wanting to know if they really wanted Pah for Pah and not for his money, but after about half a year of them dating, he let up, congratulating the two on their happy relationship.

They ended up marrying about two years later, living in a happy home, pictures of their adventures within the last two years littering the wall. But most importantly, the two still visited the coffee shop they met at often, except now they sat together, drinking and eating while Y/n worked, often getting distracted by their husband across from them, but thyey could never stay mad at him.

First chapter finished! I'm not completely proud of this, Pah seemed very out of character, and the ending seemed wack, I might come back to this and fix it, but not right now. This isn't my best work, but I hope to get more requests so I can get better at writing his character! See you guys in the next chapter!
