"I thought I said no!" Noelle reprimanded Maya, as men with boxes came trampling through the open living room.
"You may have said it, but I might of already impulsively bought it, before going over the budget," Maya confessed, pressing her fingers together rocking back from her heels to her toes, her curls bouncing with each motion.
"Let me see your phone," Noelle demanded holding out her hand as her hazel eyes narrowed, her chestnut messy bun slumped to the side. Maya rolled her eyes handing her phone over to Noelle, she tiptoed in her five-one frame to see what Noelle was doing as she tapped away.
"Maya stop it! I'm getting my money back, we just moved and we are not going to a concert two days from now." Maya's ears burned red, and she took a breath in and out, trying to calm herself down.
"Why not?! It would be fun, and ease everyone's minds. I mean we just moved halfway across the country for one of us!" Noelle rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest as the frustration got the better of her.
"Maya, we do not have time to go to a concert. We have to unpack, we have to ease ourselves into our new life, as your therapist explained you may experience more impulsive reactions." Maya immediately felt the heat running across her face as one of the moving men, glanced in their direction.
"Don't even!" Maya pointed at Noelle, which never works out in her favor, Noelle grabbed her finger and pulled closer bending her head low enough to press her mouth against Maya's ear.
"Moving men or not, I will still put you over my knee, right here and right now." Noelle's breath tickled Maya's neck sending a shiver down her spine, making her want to squeeze her legs tightly.
"Yes, ma'am." Noelle raised her head back up and smiled handing Maya her phone. Maya took it back feeling defeated.
"So, am I the only one who is going to help the movers unload our stuff?" Sam chimed in as she set her box down against the wall. "And are you wearing my painting overalls?" She questioned Noelle who quickly looked away. "I haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about."
"Hey Sam, do you think you'd want to go to a concert with me?" Maya chimed in looking straight into Sam's blue eyes, avoiding the gaze of Noelle. Testing the boundaries is a must, especially when having two girlfriends.
"Girl, you're funny. You wanna go to a concert...you want to know what I want you to do? I want you to go get all the fragile boxes out of the garage and bring them inside." Sam explained as Maya rolled her eyes, Maya went to walk away and she heard a snap to her right. "Punishment tonight, by the way," Noelle replied, and Maya smirked rolling her eyes as it would be such a delicate punishment.
After the movers left and they finished ordering a pizza, they all sat on the sofa exhausted from the long haul of the last two days. She felt Noelle begin to scratch her back lightly underneath her hoodie and felt like heaven, sooner than expected the doorbell rang and Sam launched up.
"Did you order a salad with our pizza?" Sam's voice echoed as she asked walking back into the living room with a pizza and salad on top. "That's for Maya. I'm too exhausted to do any punishments tonight, other than make her watch us eat cheese pizza." There was a darkness in her tone, that made Maya feel small, but she wouldn't let it stop her. Oh, no. This hit a personal nerve. How dare she refuse to let her have pizza!
"You've gotta be fucking kidding me, Noelle! Pizza, you're gonna make me watch you eat pizza? That's my favorite food. This is ridiculous, I get the standard public humiliation shit, but this is too much!" Maya says fuming her brown eyes glaring into Noelle's soul. Noelle just kept her head high, as she opened the salad and prepared it for Maya.
"You sit there and you eat this, do not throw it. Do not slam it down." Sam said pointing at the floor in front of the coffee table, so Maya's back would be facing the window, as Noelle got up leaving towards the kitchen.
"You feel that frustration building inside you, that's what I feel like every time you ask me or Noelle something we've already said no to, the fact that you have no respectable manner is unacceptable," Sam stated before grabbing a slice of pizza, and Maya glaring at her salad like a mad child who wanted dino nuggies and got soup.
"She's lucky I'm exhausted, be thankful the salad is the only punishment you'll be receiving tonight. When we first met I knew you'd adapt to this lifestyle, but now you're just giving me a run for my money." Noelle says as she plops down on the sofa handing out water to everyone.
"Just because I don't have twelve years of experience under my belt doesn't mean I'm an idiot. You let Sam off all the time! I guess I won't be eating." As soon as those words spilled from Maya's mouth she regretted it. Refusing food is never an option in the household. It's one of the rules.
"Maya, please go into the hallway and take five big breaths, and when you would like to join us again you may do so, this brattiness is giving me a migraine and it is not the time nor the place for it," Noelle explained and Maya shoved her Salad almost knocking it over, but it was saved by Sam, who just looked at her, not understanding why she kept pushing them all day, over a concert.
She did as she was instructed meanwhile flipping them off behind the entry wall, she hated traveling, and moving stressed her out, she had too much stuff pent up inside her, and feeling that rejection hurt and she wanted to do something together. She walked back in and took her spot on the floor.
"I'm sorry, I know that moving hasn't been easy on any of us and I just felt like getting out would have done us some good, I'm sorry for not being respectable and understanding my place in our dynamic." Noelle's face softened as she smiled picking up the pizza box and placing Maya's salad in front of her.
"Thank you for your apology, and you have twenty minutes until we gotta get your meds done. Sam, can you go find those for me?" Noelle asked Sam, who shoved the last of her crust in her mouth and got up with a bounce leaving the room.
"Maya, look at me." Maya looked up and quickly noticed how serious Noelle was looking at her. " Keep in mind I said punishments tonight, remember tomorrow is a brand new day." Noelle leaned back as Sam enter the room again, handing her the medicine bag.
"Everything okay?" Sam looked at Noelle and Maya a tad bit cross as Maya began to register Noelle's word choices. "Oh, yeah. We were just discussing tomorrow and all the ideas I have in store for it."
