Hi, I'm Brooklynn! But everyone calls me Brooke.I wanted to tell you my story of how I escaped a place with so many issues, and barely came out alive.

I woke up with a bit of sun in my eyes and it hadn't hit me yet that it was a Thursday morning. I looked over at the clock and I freaked! I was late for work again, by a whole hour! Oh, I was in trouble after this. I rushed getting dressed, applied the most natural makeup I could do, and I didn't even have time for coffee, which made me even worse because I was not fully awake yet. I didn't have a good excuse this time, I'm screwed! I rushed down the stairs of my apartment building and got into my car, so I could get to work as fast as possible. At least they have a coffee station at work... No! Focus Brooke!

I was so stressed and worried I wouldn't get back to work in time, that I didn't notice that I had gone through 5 sets of traffic lights!Only 5 minutes away, 5 MINUTES! When I got pulled over, did I notice. DAMNIT! I was gonna be even more late than I already was, I hope I only get a warning. "Ma'am, did you know you were driving over the speed limit?" Shoot, I didn't know I was doing that. "Sorry officer, I did not know that I was going over the speed limit. Can you just tell me how much I was going over?" Oh, I shouldn't have said that. The officer looked like I had created a new disease. "You were over the speed limit by 40 ma'am." I sighed in relief. "That's not so bad. I mean, it is bad but not as much as what I was thinking it was. I- I mea-" The officer just walked away just to show that the conversation is over. "Well, that was rude. Wasn't it?" I said, sitting there with my head back and arms crossed, trying not to show how nervous I was. The officer came back and asked, "Do you have a good reason for speeding, ma'am?" I personally thought it was a good reason, he on the other hand... Might not. "Well, officer, I was and am late for work and I'm needing to get there as soon as possible. So could you please give me my ticket and then I can be on my way?" I saw the pity in his face, like he knew what I was talking about. "I'll let you off with a warning, but you owe me a coffee date." Well, I did not see this one coming. "Sure." I said with a small smile on my face. He wrote down his number, "You give me a call for when you're free. Now go." He then walked away and I started to drive off.

I rushed towards the building and as I thought no one would notice me slipping in.. my boss and guardian, Bubbles( as our colleagues called her and nicknamed by yours truly ), was waiting for me right outside of my office. "You're late again Brooke. What is the excuse this time? You got stuck in traffic, you got drunk and didn't get enough sleep, or you had an unexpected guest?" Hold on just a minute, how many times have I done this that she knows that I'll probably have an excuse? "This is the 8th time this month, Brooke~" Oh, nevermind. Guess that's how she knows. "you know that I can't have you late and give you a pass. Yes, I told your mother that I'll always have a job for you...but she said that the deal would be that you would have to make it to work on time and be treated like an employee."
"Yeah, yeah I know... And just by the way, I was pulled over by a cop and he asked for my number." I said sinking down into a chair. "Brooke, that's irrelevant! Do you know I would do everything in my power to keep you here? But I can't keep coming up with excuses for us to keep you. The governing body is already thinking I favourite you more. So, you have one more day, to prove to me that you are worthy for this job. Otherwise, I'll have to make you leave." I was clearly shocked. I knew Bubbles cared for me, but I never knew that she had helped me keep my job on multiple occasions. "Okay, Bubbles, I'll try my hardest." I said with a whole heart, I did mean what I said... didn't I? "Thank you brooke. I know you'll make them proud." She said smiling at me, with her hand on my back and she started to walk away. I knew she was talking about my parents that had passed away when I was little. "Oh! Bubbles, one question." I said before she was too far to hear me. She turned around and had a confused look on her face. "You do favourite me more, right?" We both just laughed and she shook her head, before turning so she could go into her office. Guess this was it, I have to put in all of my effort. So, I got to work. But first, lemme get a cup of coffee!
