RICH KID'S DRUNKEN PROMISE

Marceline Phelan

"Look at them, they're the cutest!" Vivvy exclaimed, a big smile on her face.

"Super cute," I muttered back.

"What was that?" Vivvy asked.

"I said, they're just so adorable," I lied.

"Don't you think they're perfect for each other?"

I just ignored her previous question and went back to staring at the perfect couple. I took another swig of my champagne.

Why did I even agree to come to this stupid wedding. I'm not even friends with Winnie. In fact the only reason she invited me was because my mom and her mom are couponing buddies. As in they are both coupon freaks!

"I just love Winnie's dress," Vivvy said, admiring the girl in the white dress.

"Yea," I replied dryly. It was far from what I thought was pretty. I mean, why do girls want to get married in those big dresses. Doesn't it weigh a ton?

This was the most boring wedding in the history of the world. I was watching one of the only guys I ever got along with dancing with the girl that reminded me how much of a slob I was.

Seeing her laugh at what he said and rest her head on his shoulder as they swayed to the music made me want to pull my red hair out. Not because I hated them, but because they looked so happy. All that lovey dovey crap was insane. Yet, I felt kind of envious they had someone that loved them for who they were.

'The cutest couple ever', is what Vivian called them. They are none other than Easton and Serenity.

I knew staring at them would classify me as a weirdo and the amount of champagne I downed in the last hour wasn't helping me think straight either. Honestly I rarely care about what people think! But my friends are gonna be mortified.

Actually I wouldn't exactly use the word friends. We known each other since middle school but I wouldn't call Serenity, Wyatt, Easton or Vivian my actual friends. Maybe acquaintances?

Vivian I can handle. Serenity reminds me how not lady like and rude I am. Easton is pretty cool but after he started dating Serenity, he sort of wasn't the dude I knew anymore. Wyatt is too much of a nice guy.

That only leaves Jerome. I don't know how to describe him exactly. He's just an okay guy when he wants to be and a pain in the ass always. Me and him bicker back and forth and I can hardly stand him. But, he was quite the looker. I mean, that boy was just so handsome. Of course, I'll never say that to him.

"Speaking of Jerome, were the hell is he?" I asked myself.

My eyes scanned across the room for the blond and I found him shortly. A big group of girls around him. Nothing strange about that. He was quite the ladies man.

"Oh, here comes the food!" Vivvy announced, a big excited grin on her face.

"Oh thank God," I mumbled.

The waiter put the plate of food in front of me and as soon as I looked at heaven in front of me, I stuffed some chicken in my mouth. I can't even explain the pure heaven I just took a bite off. It was just that good.

"This chicken is the best thing that happened to me today," I stated and Vivian laughed.

"Don't talk with your mouth full, Marce," Wyatt warned. There he goes, correcting everyone's table manors.

"But its good!" I argued back and he shook his head.

"There's no need to let the entire world know what you're busy chewing," He scolded and I rolled my eyes.
