Magicka was quite the tool for the mage of trade.

It was what could be known as a person's magical essence. According to many theories and legends, it is what was left of Magnus when he was involved in the creation of the mortal plane. It was also believed to be the residual energies left behind by the other creators of Nirn.

The world we live in is known as Nirn; a place known for holding the lives of humans and other creatures on its plane.

We on Nirn all worship our own gods, divines set as the highest deities by the choice of one creature. However, the same story will apply to everyone that resides on the surface of Nirn: our et'Ada (Original god- there were nine), Magnus, was responsible for its creation.
During the Dawn Era, Magnus and several other et'Ada had been convinced by Lorkhan – a deadra that goes by the title of 'prince' to many races- to create the mortal plane. Viewed as the architect of Mundus, Magnus had been responsible for the schematics and diagrams required to construct the plane.

Although Mundus –the mortal plane- began forming, it was discovered that many et'Ada would have to sacrifice their power to complete their project. However, the et'Ada responsible for the mortal plane's creation convened at a place called the Adamantine Tower where the event called the Convention took place. There, they thought of considerable ways to punish Lorkhan for his treachery.

Afterward, Magnus fled to Aetherius to during the final stages of Mundus birth and in his departure, tore a hole straight through the plain of Oblivion where all the deadra and aedra resided, and this became known as Nirn's sun which was also known as Magnus. Soon after, many et'Ada had resorted to follow Magnus in his departure and had torn smaller holes into the sky, which to be seen as stars. The et'Ada that had sacrificed themselves to create both Mundus and Nirn were known as the Magna Ge and were also celebrated as the Nine Divines.

Magicka is claimed to have been derived from Magnus' energy still residing within Nirn. Mages, therefore, receive their power from the Divines themselves and are able to strengthen and hone their abilities in order to use them as they wish. A place known as the College of Winterhold was said to be quite popular during it's early days of offering teaching in the ways of magic. However, an incident had befallen Winterhold where it was claimed that the College had done nothing to protect the citizens and had only protected itself.

**************************

It had been a long, cold week.

The feeling of numb seeped into the wounds that lined his clothing as well; his armor ripped away to reveal the red that leaked over onto the brown of his tunic. Their surprise attack had been foiled by a group of hungry bandits wielding maces and greatswords of Elven make. All Carak could do at that very moment was let Dusk clean as many of the wounds as she possibly could with the little bit of Magicka her body had left to offer. He could see that she was exhausted from having to tend to Rayne's wounds, but no matter how many times he proposed she rest instead, Dusk would refuse stubbornly.

"You need to rest, Dusk. Tanner won't be happy if you're sick as well. Rayne needs time to heal naturally too. I'm quite sure her body is capable of dealing with petty scratches."

"I'll be fine, Carak. If I allow myself to rest now she might never be able to heal herself on her own in her current condition."

"Perhaps you could teach her to use magic?"

"According to what I've heard about Rayne and her abilities, she's already a well-trained mage and even better assassin."

She's a mage? Could she have been the assassin that had humiliated Ulfric a few weeks ago?
