"It was dangerous to be out on the beach after a storm", your grandparents always told you even before you could walk. Little did they know that it was the complete opposite from true when it came to you.
Your grandparents lived their entire lives on the family beach house, gifted to them by your great grandmother shortly after she died. It was a lovely beach house, not too close to the beach line but not too far that you couldn't walk there within seconds.
Which is exactly what you did one night.
As stated, your grandparents always told you to never go near the beach after a large storm, which happens more times than you think. They always spoke of Monsters and dangerous creatures that would wash up, only to snatch the foolish human that walked up to them before retreating to the depths of the ocean, human in tow.
These were no ordinary Monsters either, not like the ones at Mount Ebott that were released shortly after you were born. No these were humongous Monsters that have been around for as long as humans. Just hidden away from sight for fear of being hunted and killed.
Because of these stories being told, you never went to the beach alone, let alone during a storm.
But for whatever reason you dreamed that you did one night.
It was the night after a large storm, the storm had ended long after sunset. You had stayed up to listen to the sound of the storm's winds howling, the trees rustling around, and the sounds of the hard crashing waves in the distance.
When it came to an end you were about to head to leave when a song was heard outside your window.
It didn't sound like any of the sounds you heard before during the storm. It sounded like an echo that sang a ghostly song.
It sounded....
Sad.
Desperate.
Hungry.
Very lonely.
Without hesitation you grabbed your bag and bright pink sandals that you wear to the beach everytime. You also made sure to grab some leftovers from lunch and stuffed it in your bag.
It was a tuna sandwich.
Then races out of the house as quietly as possible so as not to wake your grandparents.
You ran all the way to the beach. You crossed the street with ease, ran across the boardwalk, and before you knew it you were at the beach.
The song was still in full swing, and it was close by.
Being the somewhat scared little girl you were, you carefully approached the direction of the song. You still believed your grandparents' warning about being on the beach.
The song grew louder and louder.
Until it stopped when you found the supposed source.
What you saw made you tighten your grip on your Barbie backpack (your grandmother bought it for you, whether you like it or not doesn't really matter, it's just a backpack).
Right in front of you was the pure white bone of a skeleton. But towards where the hips would be it slowly morphed into deep black colored tentacles. You could tell they were tentacles because of the lighter coloring showing off the long appendage, even a few suckers.
You knew instantly what you were standing in front of.
A sea Monster.
Ones that your grandparents warned you about.
