When Caroline Davenport said she hated parties, she didn't necessarilymean she hated parties. Because she didn't. In fact she was a little bit addicted to the pounding music, the drinks and the overall atmosphere.
However, in the outer banks, a majority of the parties where both Kooks and Pogues attended, often ended in some sort of fight. Usually it could be deescalated without police interference, but it was still not a fun thing to experience.
Caroline refused to pregame before this party as she knew parties in the Boneyard often went south and she did not need to be drunk before she even got there.
"You came!" Kie's face broke out in a grin as she walked over to Caroline, and gave them a welcoming hug.
"I said I would, so here I am." Caroline shrugged, as if it wasn't a big deal.
"Yeah I'm so glad you're here." Kie handed them a cup, "Want a beer?"
"Don't mind if I do." Caroline grinned and took it, before looking around, "So when you said it's a mixed party, you really meant it."
Kie followed her eyes, "Yeah."
"You don't have to stay with me if you wanna go hang out with your friends." Caroline said.
"You are my friend. Plus, not in the mood for a drinking competition." Kie stated, pointing at JJ who was indeed challenging a girl to a drinking competition.
Caroline rolled her eyes as she looked away from him, "Typical, Maybank."
"What is your deal with him?" Kie asked, leaning up against one of the trees, before sipping her beer and peering over her cup at Caroline.
"Okay, don't give me that look." Caroline said, shaking her head.
"What look?" Kie asked, innocently.
"Your innocent look when you're asking a very non-innocent question." Caroline explained.
"It's a totally innocent question, Care." Kie stated, taking another sip of her beer.
