-TWO-

Suddenly, Allison started singing the song, 'Baby I Need Your Lovin'' by the Four Tops, which made Madison laugh, "Well, the singing has started so I'm just gonna..." she plugged in her headphones and began to play her favourite song, 'Sweater Weather'. Katie glared at her in jealousy, earning a little blown kiss from her friend's end. When the girl began to whine to her mom, the blonde didn't notice the small blush which dusted her friend's cheeks.

Remembering the parent-teacher night that night, she hastily texted her father.

Dad

Madison
Dad, we've got parent-teacher night tonight. Can you or mom come?

Dad
Can't make it tonight. Your mom and I have got a new case to work on, so we're in New York for the week. We're leaving at 2:00. Can you ask Allison to do it?

Madison
Okay fine.

Dad
Make sure Leo doesn't get in trouble, and dinner's in the fridge if you want any. The only place you can go to is the Torres'. And no boys.

Madison
Fine. Have fun in NYC or whatever.

She shut her phone with a small sigh, muttering, "'Have a good day, honey!', 'Aw, thanks Dad, have a safe trip!', 'I love you!', 'Nah, I love you more.'" She scoffed under her breath, "Yeah, I fucking wish."

"Maddy, sweetie, are your mom and dad going for parent-teacher night?" Allison asked, seeing the blonde's dejected face and having heard the angry muttering.

"Nope," said the girl. "They've got a new case to work on so they're going to NYC for a week. I'll probably ask Leo to come."

"No, no, no," Allison shook her head. "I'll talk to your teachers for you."

Katie turned around to face her best friend, "Mads, we talked about this. If your parents can't make it to something, mine will. You don't have to bother your brother for it. We both know he's not gonna do anything."

Maddy laughed and said, "Y'all are the best." Before leaning back in her seat and listening to music.

Leo pulled up to the driveway of the school, honking the horn loudly. "Get in, loser!" He yelled out.

"Okay, I'll be over at your place at around seven," said Maddy. "Don't miss me too much."

"You wish," laughed Katie, shoving her friend's shoulder gently.

"Love you too, babe." The blonde chuckled, hugging the shorter brunette. "I'll see you in a few hours."

"Bye..." Katie trailed off as she watched Maddy run off to the car.

"Listen," said Leo, as she got in the seat beside him. "I can't make it to your parent teacher thingy. Something came up."

"That's fine," scowled Madison. "I've got Mrs. Torres to go for me."

"Hey, come on, we both know that mom and dad are going to NYC to do the dirty in peace without worrying if we're gonna barge in on them," he ruffled her hair as he started up the car.

"I want them to come to this parent teacher night because I've gotten an award for my photography and Mrs. Feldman, my art teacher, wanted to talk to them," sighed the blonde.
