Chapter 2 : The Letter

Dear Keith,

I wish that I was looking at you and standing by your side as the best and most talented footballer's wife right now, instead of writing this letter to you. I am sorry darling. For not being there with you.

I woud like to clear a few things right now :

Firstly, I did not get cold feet.

Secondly, this is NOT one of my superbly crafted plans.

Thirdly, I have not been kidnapped.

And lastly, I really love you. Always have and always will.

 (I hope that clears some of the ideas you might have had. Oh, and shut your mouth - I clearly know you better than you know yourself!)

At this point, Keith managed a smile on his face despite the situation. His mouth was indeed hanging open as he recollected his musings in the exact same order. Adam too laughed silently beside his best friend and mimicked a high school girl cooing about "How cute they are!". They continued to read the letter - 

Adam shut up. 

It was Keith's turn to laugh at his best friend's expression.

I am coming back for you Keith, and our new family, but i am just not sure when. And if you don't wait for me, I will cause bodily harm to you. (I am hoping that you do not run away with some other girl)ul

Yes, yes I will stop beating around the bush and come to the main point and answer all your questions, so quit rolling your eyes.

Why did I attend my own wedding for only two minutes? Well, THEY told me that I had to leave right away. But I fought with them and so I at least got married to you. Oh, and they told me this minutes before the wedding ceremony started, which is why I was looking a dazzling beauty in my wedding gown. And the white sneakers that I am sure that Adam noticed were because I cannot possibly get the 'Bride of the Century' in those killer heels. 

That answers your first question. 

How did Adam get the letter? I obviously gave it to him just before I got to the church.

Adam vigorously nodded his head at this part, looking guilty and demented at the same time. 

Your most important question  - Where am I right now ? Well that's a secret I'll never tell, XOXO Gossip Girl. Sorry, I could not resist. Okay okay jokes apart, I really can't tell you. It IS a matter of life and death, I am not exaggerating. 

I WILL come back for you Keith. I PROMISE. And you of all the people should know that I keep my promises.

Oh, and I love you.

P.S. I loved signing myself like that.

P.P.S. I want you to move back with your parents in Hendersonville until I come back to get you. Please? That would be your wedding gift for me. And because of the no-time-for-anything-phase I will come with your wedding present.

Keith could see the ink smudged where Kim's tears had fallen while writing the letter. And despite the seemingly flippant tone of the letter, Keith could gauge the depth of the emotions as they mirrored his own.

He turned to Adam and saw that his eyes too were brimming with tears. The next moment they were in each others arms, hopefully in the non gay way. 

"Now what?" Adam asked Keith after sitting in silence for God knows how long.

"It seems that I am moving back to Hendersonville for the time being," Keith replied with a watery wry smile, his eyes still a whirlwind of his emotions that were all over the place

"Wow, even gone she has you wrapped around her fingers," Adam said, in an effort to make his best friend smile.

The ghost of a smile painted his handsome face. He was grateful for Adam's presence at that time. He was astounded with his timing. Adam always managed to be there for him when he needed him.

'Okay now I sound as though he is my soulmate and all that sh*t' And he shook his head trying to get rid of that thought. 

"I have always told you, Adam is gay!" Kim's playful voice whispered in his head.

'That woman though!'

He turned to Adam and squaring his shoulders, voice thick with resolve said, "No one is too know about this letter and I presume that you have told no one. And you are helping me pack."

"Sir, yes sir."

Keith shook his head in exasperation at his dorky friend and the couple got up and began packing. Keith was positive that Kim would indeed come back. For him. He believed in her and trusted her no matter what. And even if she had not threatened him, he would have waited for her.

A/N : I know i should have updated earlier but vacations comprise a lot of procrastinating and binge watching tv and binge eating. So I'll try to make up for this by posting a new chapter within 2 days,I promise.
