Holbrook POV-
As I got out of my car and approached the hospital doors, I thought about what I could say. I wasn't sure what I could say to Hanna.. I walked out on her after she told me the groups darkest secret. They trusted me and I let them down, I knew that. I hadn't meant to, but I knew what I did. All that I could do now was talk to Hanna and hope she forgave me once I explained myself. If she would let me explain, that is.
I opened the door and walked in, nodding my head in acknowledgment to the lady sitting at the front desk. She hit the button that opened the doors and I walked through. Without even thinking about where I was going, I immediately went down the hallway to her room. It was like it was implanted in my head.
I got to her door and lifted my head to see Aria leaning against the wall next to the door. I stopped a few steps away and cleared my throat to get her attention. She looked at me, seeming almost relieved to see me, and I put my hands in my pockets.
"Can I go in and talk to Hanna?" I asked. I figured I should ask first in case she was busy or something, wouldn't want to barge in on something I shouldn't have.
"Sure, hold on and let me check to see if she's done changing." She turned and knocked hesitantly on the door. "Hey Han, you almost done in there?" She asked through the door.
"Yeah, hold on I'm almost done." I heard her respond. I looked at Aria who was looking at me and nodded to let her know I had heard Hanna.
We sat there for a few minutes before Hanna said she was done. Aria opened the door and walked in, me right on her heels. When we went in I saw Hanna sitting on the edge of the bed, putting on some converse sneakers.
"Hey Aria, are your sure these are mine? I don't think I own any--" she stopped when she looked up and saw me. She seemed surprised and a bit confused. But then a bit happy, then questioning. I figured I should start talking now. Aria must have thought the same 'cause she turned and excused herself from the room.
"Hey." I said awkwardly, not really knowing where to start.
"Hi." I heard her laugh a bit under her breath then she started talking again. "I think we need to talk."
"Yeah, I need to explain some things to you first though." I waited for her response and looked at her. She looked better, not as pale as she had been the other night.
"Okay, so then talk." She settled back on the seat, getting comfortable.
That's when I explained how I left the room so abruptly because I was upset that this -A person had tried to hurt her, even kill her, and I hadn't known. I told her that I did in fact like her back, but I was confused about it at first. I told her that I hadn't told Tanner and didn't plan to; she and the girls had told me in confidence and I would respect that. If they didn't want anyone to know, that was their choice not mine and I would stand by and help in any way I could.
When I finished, Hanna was pretty happy with what I had to say and we started talking about things. We sat there for what felt like hours, just sitting next to each other and speaking about anything we could. It was a nice feeling and I didn't really want it to end. But I knew it would have to eventually. A nurse came in with Hanna's discharge papers and I helped her gather all her things.
The girls came in while we were packing and told Hanna how glad they were that she was okay and she was able to come home. Spencer apologized and I explained to the girls that I was going to help them in any way I could and that I wasn't going to tell anyone. They all seemed pretty relieved and happy. Everything was going well as we walked out of that hospital with Hanna. That was, until their phones started chiming indicating a new text.
