Vol 3: Ch 1 - The Luxury Cruise

[1st Person POV: Asuka]

There's been some rumors circulating about the summer vacation.

And they seemed pretty fake.

Now, what was the rumor about?

Well, it was that the summer vacation would be on a luxury cruise ship.

Definitely sounds super fake, right?

Well, I was standing on the ship, amongst the summer. The infinite blue sky. With perfectly clear air.

In the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

I was just staring at the water.

"Boy was I wrong." I muttered to no one.

It was pretty nice, to be honest. It was just just me here, and the sound of ocean waves.

"Whoa! This is the beeeeeeeesssssst!"

But of course, that wasn't going to stay that way, was it?

The one who just shouted was Ike.

"This view is incredible! I'm super moved right now!"

This one was said by Kei Karuizawa, as she led a group of girls that came out of the ship's cabin.

"Seriously, the scenery here is just incredible!"

Kushida Kikyou was also present among the group.

Even though I did get a little annoyed by them ruining this peaceful moment, I couldn't really blame them.

We've overcome numerous hardships, we were given a time to relax.

A two-week trip on a luxury cruiser.

What more could one ask for?

"Wow, Ken, you must be happy you didn't get expelled. I mean, if it were a normal trip, it would've been impossible for us to go." Yamauchi said, and continued.

"Hey, how did it feel to be on the verge of expulsion, since you had the lowest score in the exam? Come on, tell me. How did it feel?"

'Oof.'

I thought.

Even though Yamauchi was insulting Sudou, he didn't get angry or anything like that.

Instead, he was laughing, a far cry from what Sudou would've responded with just a month ago.

Truly, some good character development.

"With my skills, there was nothing to worry about. Didn't I tell you I'd prove myself, and it'd be easy?"

Even though he was on the risk of expulsion just a week ago, he was now so calm.

Maybe it was the effect of the blue ocean, washing away our troubles.

"I never that high schoolers could go on such a luxurious cruise. And it's for two whole weeks. Two weeks! When my parents hear about this, they're gonna be so shocked they'll wet themselves!"

As Sudou stated, this was a government-sponsored school, and hence, we didn't need to pay for the tuition or other expenses. Which included this trip.

We would receive the best of special treatment. The cruise liner and its facilities were of the highest quality possible. The ship was equipped with everything from high-end restaurants to a whole theater, and even an upscale spa.

If I was paying for this myself, it would've cost me more than 100K Yen (about $760 or €700).

Our trip had just started today. And according to what we've been told, we'll be spending the first week in a fancy summer lodge on a deserted island - Which sounds insanely suspicious, by the way - And the second week on this ship.
