It's February 5, 2020There are nine days till Valentine's Day. On Valentine's Day, I'll finally profess my love to the person I've loved for years! After hearing several of the girls confess to him being rejected, I am already certain that I will be rejected. But before I quit liking him, I just want to tell my feelings to him.
I turned to face the man who was intently looking at his friends. Well, he's always serious. When he noticed me smiling at him, I quickly glanced away and closed my locker.
I felt my feet starting to move towards the man I like. I awkwardly stood there. "Uhm.. Hi S-sunghoon." I stuttered.. I felt embarrassed and closed my eyes. When I heard his friend chuckled, I opened my eyes to see Sunghoon gazing into the depths of my soul and Jay nudging Sunghoon's arm and laughing.
Sunghoon rolled his eyes and walked away leaving Jay and me. Jay patted my head and I removed it. "Sorry babes, he's not in the mood. Better luck next time or maybe just call me if you get rejected," Jay said. "That's why you don't have any girlfriends." I left him there and I went to my class.
"Ouch?" Jay pouted as he placed his hand on his chest.
...
[TIME SKIP] BREAK TIME
I gave Sunghoon the banana milk that I had taken. He simply ate without even attempting to touch the banana milk. "Hey, won't you drink that?" I questioned. "Do you think I'm even going to touch that? I won't touch that especially when it's coming from you." He spoke crudely to me as I struggled to control my tears as he glanced at the banana milk I smiled it out. "Yeah, I'm sorry, "I said, as I went to get my food. I went to the rooftop and sat down to admire the lovely view.
I suddenly felt tears running down my cheeks, and I just let them flow. "I'm sorry that I like you, Sunghoon-ah. I just can't help falling in love with you." I chewed on my sandwich and sipped on my strawberry milk.
I noticed Sunghoon's friend Jay standing behind me and I turned to face him. I brushed away my tears and turned my head away while I ate my sandwich, "Why are you even here?" Jay laughed, and I glared at him, "Really? You're crying just for a guy? Weirdo."
"Haven't you been in love? You won't know how it feels when you are in love with someone you like for years," I said and started to cry again while eating my sandwich. "I did fall in love with someone, but sadly she's in the sky now," Jay said, turning to look at the sky. "I'm sorry," I said as I stared at him sadly.
"Jay? Where have you been? Your dad is looking for you," Sunghoon said as the door opened, which alerted me and Jay to his presence. "What? Why?," Jay asked and I sat there, wanting to run away. I nodded as Jay glanced at me. Sunghoon and I were just there when he left. Sunghoon gave me a quick glance before walking away.
When I saw Sunghoon walking, I sprinted over to stop him by grabbing his hand with the cookies I was carrying for him. He aggressively withdrew his hand after giving me a annoyed look.
"What do you want from me?" He asked me and I gave him the small box with cookies inside. He took it and he scoffed and threw the cookies on the ground.
I looked at the cookies that had spilled and covered my mouth with both of my hands. He combed his hair with his hand and walked away as I knelt down to collect the cookies that has been thrown.
I hastily brushed away the tears that had started to gather on my cheeks, but they only continued to fall. After gathering the cookies, I stood up and turned to look at Jay, who questioned, "Did he do it?," I looked down and walked away not wanting to talk to him.
I looked at him as he held my hand to stop me from escaping "I'm sorry about Sunghoon." I gave Jay a faint smile. "You don't have to apologize Jay, you didn't do anything wrong." After that I left.
[HOME]
I leaped onto my bed and looked up at the ceiling, thinking, "I almost had my house burned down just so I could bake cookies for Sunghoon and have him throw it away." I got up and changed into a red hoodie and some gray sweatpants. "It's night, but I'm hungry." I said, looking out my window. I headed outside to the closest store after getting my phone and keys.
I came across the store as I was strolling and entered. I went to the counter with the ramen I wanted to buy. I reached into my pocket to get my wallet, but nothing was there. I also tried looking in the pockets of my hoodie, but nothing was there. "Oh shoot, I left my wallet at home. I'm sorry i'll be right back!"
I got out of the store and made my way back home through the dark alley. I began to feel uneasy when I heard footsteps behind me.
I accelerated my pace as the footsteps got closer and started to tear up, but I heard a punch coming from behind. When I turned to look behind me, I saw Sunghoon. Sunghoon had just punched the man wearing a black hoodie.
"Leave my fucking girl alone." Sunghoon said. After that the unidentified man ran away.
I started sobbing uncontrollably while covering my mouth with both of my hands. I sobbed and Sunghoon hugged me. "T-thank you S-sunghoon."
Sunghoon soothed me by gently caressing my head, "You shouldn't be out of your house, especially if it's dark. What would happen to you if I wasn't here?
Sunghoon released me from the hug and wiped my tears away. "Let's get you home." He said as I nodded.
......
I looked down, "Sunghoon-ah, I would have been dead right now. Thank you for bringing me home. "Just be careful," Sunghoon said which caused my heart to skip a beat. He smiled at me, which I hadn't seen before. I gave him a startled look. "I'll be leaving if you close the door." He said after coming to my wits "Oh yeah, thank you again." We exchanged pleasantries before I shut the door.
I went to my room and closed the door
"Park Sunghoon just smiled at me and hugged me." I mumbled as I put my head against the door of my room and jumped onto my bed.
I collapse onto my bed. I smiled as I dozed off after that.
