You woke up a couple hours later to find a basket of food in the sick bay by your bed. There was an orange beside it, a paper flower, a book, pen and ink, and a sword propped up nearby. It very much felt like an assortment of Get Well blessings, but different enough to remind you where you were.
Sitting up slowly you grabbed one of the sandwiches and began to eat. You were ravenously hungry after everything that had happened. The two bowls of broth had vanished with all the muscle tension from the return of your memories, and the sandwiches were far more filling.
Just as delicious as well. It was a small wonder to you that the entire crew wasn't rotund. It'd be difficult to control yourself with such delicious food so readily available.
You were on the second sandwich when Chopper came into the room.
"You're awake!" He says cheerfully, coming in and closing the door before bringing his chair over to the bed and climbing into it. "How are you feeling?"
"Good, I think. I'm still a little groggy, but the sandwiches are delicious. Are these all gifts?" You ask, nodding your head to the assortment of items.
"Yeah, I had to remove some. Luffy brought you some meat, but Sanji's keeping it safe for you. Zoro brought sake, but you shouldn't have alcohol yet, so I moved that away in case I didn't come back in time to stop you. The tangerine is from Nami, the paper flower's from Usopp. Robin and Brook brought the empty journal and pen set." Chopper checks your vitals as he talks. "I think it would be good if you kept a journal. We don't know what caused your amnesia, but if it happens again, seeing details in your own handwriting will be more comforting than anything else I could do."
"Your logic is sound, Dr. Chopper." You admit, turning the paper flower over in your hands. It was not hastily crafted, and you could see several different tones of paper folded together to create a delicate ivory white blossom. "These gifts are all very thoughtful."
"Jinbei says that his gift to you will be describing this world from his perspective, when you're ready." Chopper offers.
"He is from elsewhere as well?" You ask.
"Not from another world, no. Jinbei is a fishman, and while they are part of this world they tend to stay separate from the surface." Chopper explains. "Some of that is due to the past, and some of that is due to them, being, well, fishmen."
"When one is adapted to the water, one stays in it. I can understand that. Master Jinbei then is unique to the surface." You eat another sandwich. "I'm sure his perspective will be useful. What I know of this world is still brief. It is made up of mostly islands, with vast expanses of water. There is a world government, but the islands are often left to their own devices. The... marines are the knights of your government, and we do not like them or the government."
"We?"
"Myself and your crew."
Chopper smiles. "We like some of them, but there is a big difference of opinion between us."
"Hm. If something happens, I suppose it is best if I follow someone else's lead then." You point to the sword against the wall. "Is that for me as well?"
"Huh, oh yeah, Franky made it." Chopper explains. "Franky's not a swordsmith, but he says it should give you something to use for practice at the minimum. Until we can find you something else."
"Thoughtful gifts indeed." You muse with a smile. "Am I free to go for now, Dr. Chopper?"
Chopper smiles up at you. "Yes, you can do pretty much anything except try to go swimming again."
