2 years back

Twelve, Eleven, and Ten. Eleven and Ten are girls, their first names are Jane Ives and Malia Hale. Twelve is a boy, and his name is Will Byers. (Btw they don't have shaved heads)

They are all best friends, given that they both are different than the others at the lab. Eleven can do the dream circle, or void. (pretend no one else can) Ten can make illusions that last for about 60 seconds, and Twelve has pyrokinesis. He can control or create fire.

No one else at the lab has these extra abilities, and they have been tested more because of it. If they refuse, they would get thrown into the isolation room, the shock collar, or worse.

When they played games in the rainbow room, they always played together, or helped each other out.

Twelve's favorite station is the drawing table, Eleven's is the maze board, and Ten's is the magic 8 ball.

But secretly, they have been planning to escape. Escape the suffocating sadness and pain or fear that they went through every day. Escape all those nights crying alone in a room or in the nurse's office because their neck is sore, or sick in their room because of injections.

And today was the day. They created their own language with looks and hand signals, that look normal so it doesn't alert the workers or cameras. The cameras watch their every move. They have to be careful, they don't want to get caught.

Eleven awoke in her bed, throat sore from being locked in the isolation room, screaming and crying. Apparently they thought she wasn't using her abilities on purpose, but she was just tired. They had already done 10 experiments on her that day, and she was drained. She didn't know what do do. It wasn't fair.

Ten woke up in her bed, as usual. She felt sad for Eleven, and she was still sick from an injection that they gave her when she refused to kill a cat. She just couldn't do it. The same thing happened with Twelve and Eleven once. She knew that today was the day. She really wanted out of here.

Twelve awoke, the bright lights hurting his eyes and making his headache worse. He had gotten the shock collar a few days ago, and he has just been released from the nurse. He had a bruise on his neck. He wanted to cry, but nothing was coming out.
He always thought, why him? Why us? He couldn't wait to get out of this hell.

They didn't teach the kids much English, mostly small sentences, like 'good morning' or simple describing words. But words like 'friend' or 'promise' were unknown to them. They know their real names, as they remember their Mama's trying to save them when they were much younger. (They are 9 in this part)

As they all met outside their rooms, they all walked together to the rainbow room.

Everyday at 2 pm, a new worker comes in to watch the kids so the other one can rest. They will have about 5 minutes if they're lucky.

They spent the next 2 hours playing at their favorite stations and occasionally talking to one another. It was almost time.

The clock chimes a few times, reading 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

The worker walks out the door. They all give each other a looks, as if saying 'its time'
Eleven uses her powers to stop the camera, after about 30 seconds of the camera being stopped, the alarms will go off. She knows because she's tried it before. So they have to be quick.

Eleven focuses on the camera as she makes her way out of the door, following Twelve and Ten.

When they are out of the rainbow room, she stops using her powers, making the cameras go back on. Now they creep past Papa's office, the nurse, and now they have to get past the guard at the door.

They all silently agree for Ten to use her powers to make them invisible.

Twelve uses his powers to knock the guard out, as Eleven blocks the cameras. They run out the door, but there is a hallway.

"There they are! Get them!" They hear Papa say.

They start running, holding hands, not wanting to lose anyone. They make turns down the hallway and burst through doors, and throw guards away from them. Using all of their strength together. They are terrified.

They come through the last door, and start running towards a woods they see. They don't stop until they're sure no one else is following them. They stop, panting. They make sure everyone is okay, then they see a house.

They decide to go in, or at least try to. Ten bangs her hand on the door, now knowing how to knock.

"I'm coming, I'm coming." A male voice says. Ten steps back beside Twelve and Eleven.

"Yes- Jesus! Where the hell did you guys come from? The hospital?" A man says.

They look at each other, not really understanding what he's saying.

"Fine. Come in." They step inside, immediately engulfed with warmth.

"So what are your names?" He asks as they sit down.

"Elev- Jane. Jane Ives." Jane says. "Ives, huh? I know your mom. She was best friends with my ex wife. She's gone now though." Jane looks shocked, and Twelve grabs her hand for comfort.

"Malia Hale." Malia says, she was always the more confident of the two. Though they can be just as confident as her when they need to.

"Hale? The sheriff, Hopper had a late wife named Katie Hale. She got sick when she had you I think, then passed." Malia is again, flabbergasted.

"W-Will. Byers." Will says shyly. "Will? Oh my god.. I can't believe it! I'm Lonnie, your dad!" Will is dumbfounded. "Your mom and your brother Johnathan is gone, they got in a car crash. Sorry.." His dad continues.

"Johnathan..?" Will is sad, and confused.
They all are crying now, hugging each other. Lonnie doesn't look like he's sorry, but he gets them a change of clothes and tells them where they're going to sleep.

And that's where they spent the next 4 years. But only, it wasn't so great as they expected.
