Prologue

Lila woke up to the sound of someones car alarm going off. "Uh Luke." she muttered. She stumbled out of bed and walked to her window. She looked out her window and saw Luke run across his lawn, which had trash everywhere, to his car. Lila slammed her window shut and walked back to her bed, "Ugh that nitwit." Luke was her neighbor and he was constantly making noise. He was in a band and they were always practicing late into the night and for some reason his stupid car alarm always went off and he was the most popular boy in school so he was always throwing parties. Luke was a nice guy but he was just so....so irresponsible. He was the complete opposite of Lila.

Lila was raised in a well mannered family. She was an only child and was born 4 years after her parents had gotten married. She was told to never have a child before marriage. She was also told to never have sex before marriage. And she listened. 18 years old and she has only been kissed once by someone outside her family. Lila did what she was told, wore what she was given and never asked unreasonable questions. End of story. She had correct grammar and never got a grade lower than an A. Up until the age of 14 had she lived in France. No, she wasn't French, however her parents had always loved it's unique cuisine and how beautiful it looked. By the time Lila was 6 she already spoke fluent French. Eight years later her parents had decided they wanted to move somewhere they had never been to before. So they moved to Sydney, Australia. For some reason Lila's parents fell in love with Australia and had said they were never leaving. And ever since then Lila has been stuck next door to Luke Hemmings. She has never expected anything to happen between the two. They weren't even friends. Even if they were Lila had a crush on his fellow band mate, Ashton. They would never have anything to do with each other. Lila despised him. The only thing Luke knew of her was she was the elegant girl from next door. They would never be anything. Or so they thought.
