Lost on a path, never intended to make
Sheltered and caged away from everyone
Threw away the key, there was no escape
She craved freedom for long enough,
That it was found in her mind
Finally, a way to flee from reality

After time in her psyche
She found it hard to walk
The line between reality and imagination
Instability elicited uncertainty
She began lacking faith in herself
"What is your purpose?" "Who are you?"
This voice felt foreign

Reality made her feel trapped
She searched for answers within
To her dismay, her mind's eye had altered
Convoluted, chaotic, and confusing
Who she used to be and who she was now,
Rendered her imagination unidentifiable

The shadows whispered to her
Within and outward, there was no evade
She fought, but began to tire
Saying to herself "What could save me?
Only she could save her, but found oneself
Lost on a path, never intended to make
