My Arrival...

I sat nervously outside the Headmistresses office, I straightened my tie, adjusted my long brown hair and ironed out my skirt with my hands. I was nervous. Starting a posh, new private school halfway through the year wasn't something I had done before and I wanted to make a good first impression. The Lexington Academy was a highly prestigious school, they produced extremely high exam results and the standard of dorms was said to be outstanding.

"Miss Pennington?" A soft yet articulate voice asked. I looked up to see a tall, thin woman looking at me. "Yes that's me." I clarified. "Great! Hello there my name is Mrs Houten, I am the headmistress here at Lexington. Please, do come in." she said whilst extending her arm towards the now open door that lead into her office. I smiled at her and walked in as directed. She closed the door and asked me to take a seat, so I did. As I sat down I noticed a tall figure standing by the window, I looked over to realise he was a boy, a very attractive boy might I add. "Austin, could you come and join us please?" Mrs Houten asked. "Sure." He stated in a deep American accent. He strolled over to the desk where we were sitting and took the seat next to mine, opposite Mrs Houten. "Ok, so Grace, this is Austin..." "Nice to meet you." He interrupted her. "Yeah you too, I'm..." "Grace." he finished my sentence for me. "I know, cute name by the way." "ummm... thanks?" I said a little awkwardly. "No problem" he said whilst winking at me. I half smiled as my cheeks went pink, he smirked. "Right now we have that sorted out, Grace, Austin is going to be your study buddy." Mrs Houten stated. "As you are starting half way through the year you might not have covered everything that we have done here at your old school. Austin is in the year above you and is going to study with you to make sure you're up to date with all of your work.  Now, obviously you have a dorm to move into today therefore you will not be expected to attend your classes but here is your timetable." She said whilst handing me a piece of paper. "Now, you will notice that there are set times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We expect all students present at these meals at the stated times, except for weekends, lunch can be eaten outside of school grounds as long as you have signed out at reception on weekends." "Ok." I said, trying to process all of this information. "Here is a map of the school and a key for your dorm. You are in room 392 and you currently do not have a roommate. If a new student joins within the year then expect company, but as for now you can just use the spare drawers for yourself." "Ok, that's great." "Good, Austin will show you to your dorm and if he is feeling charitable he will give you a tour of the school too?" She looked over at Austin who was sitting staring out of the window, clearly our conversation had bored him. "Austin!" she said sternly. "What!?" he said just as coldly. Mrs Houten raised an eyebrow and said "You will show Grace to her dorm and give her a tour of the school." "Great." He said flatly whilst rising from his chair. Something told me he didn't think it was that 'Great'. "Oh and Grace." Mrs Houten added as I stood up. "Lights out is 10pm Sunday to Thursday and 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. There is a warden for each corridor that will alert me is there is any noise coming from any dorms after lights out." "Ok that's great, thank you Mrs Houten, it was lovely meeting you." "You too my dear." She called out as I closed the door and joined Austin out in the corridor.

"Oh please don't tell me you're going to kiss her wrinkly ass all of the time." Austin moaned as soon as I shut the door. "What!? I was simply being polite!" I defended. "Well can you tone it down a bit? Cause it fucking irritates me." I didn't say anything after that cause I was slightly shocked that he had sworn so comfortably and loudly whilst we were standing in an open place... in school. He saw the look on my face and smirked. "So where are we headed then, Amazing Grace?" he teased. "Oh so original." I fired back before answering his question. "And its room number 392." "Follow me." He said flatly whilst walking off. I quickly tiptoe ran to catch up with him and then adjusted to his pace whilst walking beside him. "So you're from London?" he queried. "Yeah, where are you from?" I asked back. "California" he answered. "Really!? I've always wanted to go there." I said enthusiastically. "So does half of the world, no one cares." He said. "Wow, someone needs to calm down" I muttered under my breath. "What!?" he said rather loudly, stopping on the step he was currently climbing up. We were standing on the same step and he was towering over me. He was looking down at me which caused a strand his soft blonde hair to fall in front of his face, you could see his abs through his white school shirt... God he was so hot. "Huh?" he questioned taking a step forward and interrupting my line of thought. There was now only about a centimetre between us and I was rather scared as to what might happen. I looked down at the ground and said "I said that you uh... needed to... um... calm down." My voice went high pitched at the end and I braced myself for what was about to happen. "Hahahahahahaha, Oh my god you were so scared ahaha did you think I was actually going to hit you!? Ahahaha." He laughed as he moved away from me and continued up the stairs. "Oh hahaha very funny." I said sarcastically as I caught up with him.  "Don't lie Gracie, you love me." "Gracie?!" I asked. "Oh yes." He said patronizingly as we continued our journey to my dorm.
