Chloe knew how the town was on alert after Vicki Donovan had been attacked. She knew how her own mother was out looking for the apparent beast that was lurking.

Chloe couldn't help but feel like it was something other than an animal. But she didn't want to seem like an idiot.

Chloe's older sister Charlotte had just dropped out of med school and was now back in Mystic Falls. Charlotte was two years older than her. And three years older than Caroline.

She groaned as she walked downstairs. She was tired and hungry. Caroline looked to her. "Are you coming to the comet thing?" She asked.

Chloe shrugged. She groaned. "At the moment I have a huge headache. I don't fancy dealing with collage. So I'm unsure on that," she told her.

Caroline smiled. "You're the one who decided to apply go collage in a different town and so you have to drive there and back."

"Yes cause the collage here has so much to die for. And I don't need to see the same people in class I do in town. Where I go, no one is there," Chloe said.

"I met another guy. He was dark and mysterious. I was too drunk to even notice him," Caroline said as she looked to her.

Chloe rolled her eyes and sighed. "Caroline. You need to stop focusing on guys. Seriously. Just focus on yourself for once."

"I'm not you and Charlotte though."

"And that's a good thing Care. We're older. And we have way more experience in things like men. All you need to do is focus on being yourself and enjoying your high school years," Chloe told her.

Caroline just nodded. She knew having two older sisters meant she was going to be okay. Chloe and Charlie always looked out for her.

Chloe looked up as Matt walked over to her. She raised her eyebrows. "You look awful. What happened?" She asked.

"Jeremy Gilbert. He's a punk ass," Matt said.

"Sorry I asked. What did he do?"

Matt sighed. He looked to her. "He keeps trying to fight Tyler. All because of my sister."

Chloe nodded. "Maybe Jeremy fancies Vicki. Did you ever consider that?"

Chloe found herself sitting outside of the grill with Elena, Bonnie and Caroline. Charlotte was working. She brought Chloe out a drink and smiled. "I've got 10 minutes. So I'm here to gossip," she told them.

Bonnie smiled. "I was talking to Grams. And she said the comet is a sign of impeding doom. The last time it passed over Mystic Falls, there was a lot of death. So much blood and carnage. It created a bed of paranormal activity," she told them.

Chloe raised her eyebrows. "Paranormal? Yeah right. I'm guessing you poured another shot for your grams. And then she mentioned the aliens and the mermaids," she said as she took a sip of her drink.
