A sharp pain ran through his head. That was already a major red flag. He grunted and tried to open his eyes, but they felt glued shut.

He tried again after what felt like ages and was instantly hit with a wave of nausea, blurred shapes were everywhere.

A thought then caused him to panic and his head shot up. Where were Jessie and James?

He felt another sting in his head and he lost his strength, letting his head fall back to the ground.

His head was probably the only thing he could feel right now, he was numb and sore.

He blinked a few times and was happy once the blur slowly faded away. However he noticed a factor that was adding to the blur was fog. It was surrounding him.

He started to hyperventilate and tried to push himself up.

Suddenly feeling in his body surged back and immense pain hit him like a herd of Tauros. He let out a strangled cry.

Then he heard a sound. Another weird thing, he noticed, was that everything seemed quieter. As a meowth he has heightened senses, it felt like he was underwater. An annoying dull ringing in his ears didn't help. Or maybe it was the warm liquid dripping down his head that caused the odd sound deprivation.

He was too tired. Way too tired.

The noises got a bit louder.

Then he swore he saw shadows running through the mist.

First it was one face that he recognised. Then it was two. Then there were more.

He barely heard the gasps.

"Meowth!?"
