INFINITELY (an Infinite fanfic)

The Duet

This chapter's also pretty short. i'm quite impatient so i rush the chapters. But either way, enjoy :)

Kimmy P.O.V

We start recording our duet today. I really liked the song we were going to sing. It's called "stay with me" and it's about a girl and a guy who like each other but won't admit it. In the end, they say that they just want to stay by each others side forever, even as friends. Seems pretty sad actually. But the melody is light and lutely. It makes a very cute and sweet love song. And i know i can do it well with my partner.

"Ready to start?" asked Myungsoo.

I nodded and walked into the recording booth to meet Woohyun. After thinking for a long time last week, i decided that i wanted to do the duet with Woohyun. Our voices match each other pretty well and Myungsoo is too good at guitar compared to me. I needed to do a duet with someone i matched well with and that person was Woohyun. Myungsoo is still doing the guitar for this song though. His skills are too good to go to waste and he agreed to it so why not?

Woohyun and i spent a long time in the recording booth together. I was having some trouble with the harmonies for the chorus. Why is it always the girl who has to harmonize? I'm not used to it. After an hour of messing up and a lot of encouragment, we finally finished recording.

"Good job guys" said Myungsoo when we came out. "You guys sound awesome together. And Kimmy, good job on the harmonies". He smiled at me.

"Thanks" i replied. After an hour of torturing my throat with high notes, it was nice to hear that i did well.

"So the voice recording is done. The music video filming is tomorrow right?" Woohyun asked. He looked excited at the thought of an mv.

"Yeah, we have to meet president Lee at 1:00pm tomorrow at the cafe" replied Myungsoo.

"Okay." I replied making an okay sign with my fingers. I checked my watch and saw that it was already 3:00pm. "I have to go for dance practice now. I'll see you guys tomorrow at 1!" I waved goodbye to them as i walked out the door. They both waved back and smiled.

Myungsoo P.O.V

It didn't surprise me that Kimmy chose Woohyun for the duet. I was kind of expecting it anyway. Still, i wish it had been me. Instead, i just have to sit there and play guitar while they sing a love song to each other. Ugh, seriously. Why does president Lee even want me at the mv filming tomorrow? I'll just be watching them act all lovey-dovey together. That could've been me.

Woohyun seemed particularly happy tonight. He was skipping around and making hearts at everyone. Gosh, he's such a goof sometimes. He's acting like a love-sick puppy. Aish, so annoying i thought jealously.

*the next day*

Kimmy P.O.V

I went to the cafe at 1:00pm as promised start the mv filming. When i got there, president Lee, Woohyun, Myungsoo, and another man were all sitting together at a table.

"Kimmy, this is the director for your music video" president Lee said gesturing to the other man sitting at the table. He stuck out his hand and i shook it.

"I'm excited to be working with you" i said as i took a seat. "So... how is the music video going to play out?"

"Well, i have an interesting idea." He said folding his hands. "I want you and Myungsoo to act as a couple in this music video"

I looked at Woohyun. He opened his mouth in shock. Myungsoo, on the other hand, was starting to smile.

"But this song is about two people being in love" said Woohyun, sounding confused.

"Well yes. However, Myungsoo has had more experience in acting since he did 'Shut Up Flower Boy Band' and 'Jiu'. On top of that, the song indicates that you two do not actually become a couple even though you like each other. So we want Myungsoo to act as Kimmy's boyfriend." explained the director.

As much as i would love to act with Woohyun and it was weird not to act with the person i sang the duet with, i had to admit, this sounded like a good idea. I nodded in agreement. "Sounds cool." I said.

Woohyun looked a bit shocked. "Okay" was all he said. And after settling that, we started filming. I had to get my hair and make up all done again. And i had to wear some pretty girly clothes too. I mean, i do not do skirts. And here i am wearing a white layered skirt with a blue blouse on top. I hate skirts!

Woohyun P.O.V

I still can't believe Myungsoo is acting as Kimmy's boyfriend. It's about us two being in love. Why is he playing her love interest? This was so unfair.

The music video started with them walking dowm a street together and me staring at her from a distance. Kimmy looked a little stiff and uncomfortable at first and i couldn't help but smile a bit. That smile faded though when Myungsoo put his arm around her and she leaned her head on him. COME ON! No couples walk like that naturally! Have you ever seen a couple walking like that down the street? I certainly haven't.

The rest of the music video was pretty simple. I watch them on a date and sing my part, she sees me on the street and sings her part, i think about meeting her in school and sing another part and so on. I still felt really uneasy about watching them act like a couple together. All i get to do is act like a creepy stalker and in solo moments, look off into the distance and lip-synch. This is too boring. After about 6 agonizing hours of watching them act like a couple, it was finally over. Thank god. I didn't know how much more i could take.

"Good job everybody!" yelled the director. "That's a wrap"

Myungsoo P.O.V

I have no more complaints. I'm a happy person now. I got to spend the whole afternoon acting as Kimmy's boyfriend (despite the fact that she was looking at another guy). I even took a photo with her to commemorate the moment. We look goooood together. It was my turn to start acting like a happy goof. I swear i was grinning the rest of the day. Woohyun didn't look so happy though. tried to pass it off as being tired but i know he was still sad about the music video. He likes her. He definitely does. But after everything today, i realized that, i do too. And Woohyun, even though he's my hyung, can't stop me from liking her.
