Darkside

I wake up to my alarm sounding, I sit up and sigh as I turn it off. Today Sam wants to hang out after school. I wonder if it's just going to be us or not, I need to prepare.
I quickly get dressed and slide a pocket knife in my bag along with a change of clothes.

Rule number one: Trust no one.
I look around my room and ponder. I grab a pair of gloves and a black hoodie.
Rule number two: Hide your face, make no mistakes.
I grab my mask and start towards the door.
I pause for a moment.
Rule number three: Do whatever it takes to keep your love. No matter what it takes.
I chuckle as I walk out the door.

As I approach school, I become progressively frenzied. The entire day was a blur so much so that
I didn't even walk my darling to his classes, what a pity. This stupid girl is distracting me from what's truly important.
Though, surely she won't be a problem after we have our little chat tonight.
I chuckle at the thought.

My final class, I am lost in thought when I feel something hit the back of my head.
I turn around, shooting a glare at the girl behind me, she swiftly points to the group of girls behind her.
I glace further back and pick up the item they threw, piece of paper, I scoff.
"idiots" I mutter.

"What was that?" One of the girls asked. I turn back around, "Oh, I'm sorry, I said you were idiots. I suppose I should use a
more proper term. Hmm-- imbeciles" I say coldly as I turn back around.
They laugh "Oh, such a big word coming from the vampire girl"
I act as if I didn't hear them. They're not worthy of my attention. I place my headphones in, drowning their insults out and  sit back with a smirk.

Bell rings - school lets out, I am making my way to my car, Sam texts me her address. I sit in my car for a few minutes and ponder,
voices in my head screaming kill kill kill adrenaline coursing through my veins. This sensation I haven't felt in a year.
Not since...Agh-! I cannot go back to that right now.
I must focus! I start the engine and make my way over to Sam's. She only lives about five minutes away from school.
Not bad. I notice she doesn't live far from Trent, interesting.

I pull in front of her house, not that great of an area, compared to mine this place is a shit shack, honestly. I scoff grabbing my bag and
I walk up to the door. I look around, my guard is definitely up.
I knock on the door, I hear dogs barking and a few seconds go by, an older woman, whom I presume is her mother opens the door.
I put on the most fabricated smile I could "Hello! I am Heather! Is Sam here?" Her mom greeted me with a smile and replied
"Ah! Yes, nice to meet you. Sam is just down the hall and to the left"
I nod "Likewise, thank you" I say as I make my way to Sam's room

The house is in disarray, looking as if they hadn't cleaned in months, years even. There's no way i am staying in this house for long.
I walk into Sam's room, she's lying on her bed, she's wearing a faded red tee and black shorts, brown hair up in a messy bun.
"Hey, Sam!" I say as I walk in. Sam looks up "Hey, Heather! Come, sit with me." she says as she
pushes some blankets aside for me to sit. "So what's up?" I ask as I sit my bag down next to me.

Sam sits up and tilts her phone towards me. "Arguing with Trent..." she says as she rolls her eyes.
I glance down at her phone, I read a few of the messages:

Sam: "Please take me back, Trent. I love you! He means nothing to me!"
Trent: "No, Sam, you cheated. If you loved me, you wouldn't have slept with him."
Sam: "I was drunk! It was a mistake, please!"
Trent: "I'm done with this conversation. Stop texting me or I will block you again"

I look up at Sam, "Wow, so what exactly happened?" I ask. Sam sighs, placing her phone down and sits across from me.
"So, I went to this party with my friends Victoria and Maddie, we got absolutely trashed. I woke up in this guy's house, his name is Trevor.
I remember a little bit of that night but not much I just keep apologizing to Trent but he just isn't having it and..."
as Sam continues talking I space out, feeling my anger start to boil, I have to remind myself that she cannot know
why I'm really there. I exhale. "...so what do you think I should do?" Sam asks.

I look up from my daze "To get him back?" I ask. She scoffs "Duh! What do you think?" she says. I sigh and think for a moment.
"Well, what are some things he likes? Favorite games, food. Stuff like that. Maybe you can try to take him out or surprise him with some things he likes." I said. Sam laughs a little, "Well, I don't wanna go through all that just for him to not take me back, though."
I chuckle and get an idea, "You should make him jealous." Sam seems intrigued by this idea, as I knew she would be.
Only a slag like she would be so interested in this rather than doing a doting gesture.

This girl is going to meet the darkside of me sooner than I thought. Sam looks through her phone, as she does this.
I am secretly recording her on my phone. "I know the perfect guy to make him jealous with, too. His brother." Sam says.
I look at her, dumbfounded. "Damn, really? You can do that?" I asked. Sam laughs, "Yeah, of course. His brother has been trying to hook up for awhile"
I chuckle and shrug it off. Though, deep down, I want to rip her still beating heart out and drop it in acid. I shake the thought out of my head.
Sam is back texting on her phone, I glance down at mine and see I have a comment on one of my posts.

I look and Trent commented on my recent picture of myself. "Be mine, please" with heart emoji's. My heart skips a beat, I keep my composure and put my phone away as I turn my attention back to Sam. "So, what's the plan for us tonight?" I ask. Sam smirks and sets her phone down.
"I think we should go tp Trent's house. He lives just down the road from me." she says."You know damn well he will know it was you." I say, laughing.
"Shit, you're right" Sam says in disappointment. We ponder for a moment.

Suddenly, my phone rings, I check it and it's my aunt "Hey, Heather, how is everything,
just wanted to check in. Make sure you come home soon" she says. I look over at Sam, then away as she's distracted on her phone.
"Uh, yeah, everything is going good but I thought you said I could stay the night?" I questioned.
My aunt pauses, "Oh, yeah. Do you still want to stay? I figured you wouldn't want to." she says.

I weigh out my options, one, I could leave and take what I have to Trent and destroy her, deal with her later. or two, deal with her tonight.
I believe the better choice would be to go home and figure out a plan with Trent. "Hello, are you there?" my aunt asks.
"Wha-oh! yeah, you're right. I will be home in a few!" I respond as I glance over at Sam, whose intensely texting.
I finish up my call with my aunt and turn my attention to Sam.

"You have to go home?" she asks. I sit back beside her "Yeah, in a few minutes but what's up? I seen you really focused earlier." I press further,
"If you want to make Trent jealous, then first thing's first, you should stop texting him." I laugh slightly.
Sam sighs, "you're right. Well, I had fun, I'll see you later?" she says. I nod and thank her for having me over. I sense something is off.
I head out and say goodbye to her mother as I walk out, shutting the door behind me.

On my drive home, I am in deep thought. Trent commented on my recent photo I posted of myself, does that mean he knows who I am?
Did he just happen to come across my profile? Or did someone put him up to this? I guess we will find out, though,
he has been mine for awhile now...have I been his as well?
