Jake walked me to class, and I hugged him goodbye. I went into my first-period class and sat at my desk. Blake walked in after me and sat beside me.
"Hey," he greeted me.
I ignored him and stared straight ahead at the teacher.
"Come on, Taylor don't be like that," he said. I didn't respond. He finally quit, or at least I thought. Once the bell rang, I headed outside to meet Jake. Jake was leaning against my locker, and I smiled slightly, heading towards him.
"Wait please. Why are you ignoring me?" Blake said, grabbing my arm.
"Please Blake. Just leave me alone." I whispered.
"What's going on here?" Jake said with a glare toward Blake.
"I was just telling Blake to leave me alone," I said, then snatched my arm away.
"Look, Blake. Leave Taylor alone. He wants nothing to do with you," Jake snarled.
"I don't care what you say. Taylor has his own mouth," Jake retorted.
"Okay, fine. Taylor, tell him," Jake said.
"Blake, I want nothing to do with you, okay. Just leave me alone," I said quietly. My heart broke a little having to say that to Blake. He doesn't deserve it.
He didn't say anything. He just looked at me with a truly pained expression. Jake dragged me away and walked me to our second-period class. We took our seats next to each other, and he grabbed my hand under the table. I tensed up but then relaxed as he rubbed it gently.
"Let me know if he gives you anymore problems okay?" he whispered gently.
"Okay," I whispered back.
He held my hand for the rest of the period while we did our work. When the bell rang, he walked me to my locker. Well, our locker since he uses mine also. We put our books away and went to lunch. This time, we got our lunches and then went outside to sit on our bench. We sat side by side while he held my hand and kissed it every once and a while. I sighed in content. This is the Jake that I love.
"Why aren't you eating?" Jake asked.
"I didn't know I was allowed to," I whispered nervously.
"You can eat. But only the fruit and a little bit of the pizza," he said.
I smiled happily, then took a bite out of my apple. I hadn't realized how hungry I was until now.He barely lets me eat at home. He always says how he doesn't want me to get big...That he will not love me then if I do. I leaned my head on his shoulder and continued to eat my apple. I love how he gently rubs and kisses my hand. Is this truly how love feels like? I know he can be mean, but he's nice also.
"I love you," I whispered happily.
He smiled. "I love you more," he said, then kissed my forehead. I finished my apple and then took a few bites out of my pizza.
"I'm done," I told him.
"Good baby. Let's go so I can walk you to the library," he said, grabbing our trays and dumping them in the trash can. He walked me to the study hall.
"See you during fourth. I love you," he said, kissing me quickly.
"Love you too," I whispered, then went into the library. I sat at my usual table and started reading my book.
"Oh so you and Jake are dating now.""Blake," I sighed," What do you want?" I said, looking up at his angry face.
"I want answers. Why are you ignoring me? And since when have you and Jake started dating?" he said, sitting down.
"What makes you think we are dating?" I retorted.
"Friends don't just kiss each other," he said
"Well, we were friends, and you kissed me," I shot back, smirking.
"So - that's different," he said.
"And what makes it so different?" I asked.
"Look, are you and Jake dating?" He asked, ignoring my question.
"I guess you can say that," I said.
"Why? Why him?" he asked, sounding hurt again.
"Blake, its complicated, and I just think it is best if you and I no longer talk," I said.
"It's not best for me," he whispered quietly.
"I know. Blake and I'm sorry," I told him.
"I know you are," he whispered.
