Grabbing her backpack from the passenger seat, Rebecca locked her car and walked over to the Cobra Kais. Her eyes met Bobby's, and everything else faded into the background.

"Hey, babe." Rebecca greeted, her voice soft and sweet as she pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"Hey, beautiful," Bobby murmured with a warm smile, his arm snaking around her waist as he kissed her temple—a small, tender moment that felt just for them.

Johnny broke the moment. "Becca, I'm sorry about the other night. It was only supposed to be a joke."

Rebecca sighed, pulling gently away from Bobby to face the source of her frustration. "Look, Johnny, I hope you can understand why I slapped you. I know you're expecting me to apologize, but I'm not going to. Your little joke ended up hurting my best friends in the process. You never learn, do you?" She crossed her arms, not with hostility, but with conviction.

"It was just a joke. Why can't you and Ali take one?" Johnny asked.

"Because, joke or not, that crap wasn't funny. You humiliated Ali and Daniel in front of everyone. You wouldn't like it if someone did that to you—so what makes it okay to do it to them? You've gotta learn where the line is, Johnny, and the problem is—you never do. Instead of striking first, maybe try thinking first. It might get you a little further in life."

She kissed Bobby's cheek again, lingering for a moment before embracing the rest of the Cobra Kais—everyone except Johnny. Then she turned, heading toward her locker where Ali and the girls were already waving her over.

"You really messed up, man," Dutch said.

"Come on, it was just some fun," Johnny muttered.

"Yeah, but LaRusso is her best friend," Bobby said, his voice calm but firm.

"I thought Ali was her best friend?" Dutch asked.

"She is. But people can have more than one best friend," Bobby explained. "And to answer your question, Johnny—the reason Becca defends Daniel is because he's her best friend, too. We may not like it, but I love her, and I accept it. If you guys are really her friends, you'll accept it too."

"Hey, Ali. Hey, Susie." Rebecca smiled warmly, embracing them both. They returned the hug with matching affection. "Ali, how's your hand?"

"It's sprained, but it will heal," Ali replied.
