Falling Asleep {COMPLETE}

Chapter 4

It was lunch time at school and you and your friends were sitting on the table. You were counting money.

"What's all that money for?" Tasneem asked.

"I have to pay back the money to someone." You answered.

"Your giving £10 to someone? But for what?" Tania asked.

"It's a long story." You spoke.

You saw Mr Matthews coming down the stairs and you immediately went up your seat and went to him.

"Sir!" You called. He came over to you.

"Here." You said out of breath. You made him open his hand and you put the money in it.

"What's this for?" He asked.

"I told you I was going to pay you back for paying for my snacks." You said.

"I don't need it Sumaya, it's fine." He chuckled.

"Please." You begged. "Take the money."

He eventually took the money and he smiled at you. You saw your friends looking at you and you went back to the table.

"What was all that for?" Suraya asked.

"It was money I was meant to pay back to him." You explained. "He paid for snacks I got in the shops so I had to pay him back."

"Girl, he's a teacher." Said Suraya. "He has way more money than you could make in a week."

"It's manners and it's common sense." Tasneem blurted.

After lunch, you had History. You and Damien were on your way to the History block until you bumped into the wall.

"Ow!" You shouted.

"What?"

"I hurt my nose." You said painfully. You looked at Damien and you felt something dripping your nose. He started to laugh.

"Your nose is bleeding." He chuckled. "Go get tissue from the girls toilet."

You left Damien and you went to the girls toilets in the science block since the ones in the history block were locked. As you were getting tissue from one of the cubicles, you heard 2 people talking. You locked yourself in the cubicle as you wanted to hear the conversation.

"Have you heard about Marissa being missing?" Said one of the girls.

"No what about it?" Asked another.

"Apparently she went missing last week and now police are looking for her." The other girl replied. "Marissa Clarks was the biggest slag in the year anyways."

"True." Her friend agreed. "When Layla and Younis used to date, before Layla went all crazy, Marissa used to go to Younis's house everyday after school."

"No wonder why Layla is all coocoo." The other girl laughed. They both went outside of the toilets and you went out as well later.

As you arrived to the classroom, you were 5 minutes late. Your nose was bleeding heavily and the tissue wasn't lasting long enough.

"What happened to your nose?" One of the boys asked.

"We don't talk about that." You mumbled and went to your seat.

"Your late." Mr Matthews spoke.

"Sorry." You apologized.

During halfway through the lesson, you and Damien were whispering.

"Oh yeah, guess what?" He whispered.
"What"
"You know before you came to the lesson." He began to talk. "Mr Matthews was talking about you to another teacher."
"What did he say?" You asked.
"He said-

Before he could explain, sir turned to you and immediately moved Damien away to the other side of the classroom. Now you were alone. In history, you only have Damien to speak to because Suraya and Maleika would talk to each other. You didn't really care because Damien was your bestfriend.

You were drawing flowers in your book until someone threw a paper ball at you. You opened the note and read it.

Hi.
- Damien

You got annoyed and replied back.

Bye.
- Sumaya.

You threw the paper back at him and it hit his head. You were trying your best not to laugh. As Damien was writing something, you felt someone staring at you. When you looked at his desk, it was Mr Matthews.

"Shit." You whispered to yourself. You looked down on the table as you carried on drawing on the book.

"So Sumaya." He began to speak. "What did you throw at Damien."

Everyone was staring at you as you felt something building up inside you.

"Stop looking at me bro. Face forward." You said to everyone in the class. Maleika and Suraya started to giggle.

"I didn't throw anything." You denied to Mr matthews.

"Hmm. Sure." He said in disbelief. You rolled your eyes and went back to drawing on your book.

A few minutes later, Damien threw the paper ball at you.

Guess what. Marissa went missing and now everyone is talking about it. Some people said she got kidnapped but some others are saying her mum isnt letting her go school. In the lunch line, someone said she ran away from home to become a stripper and to pull more boys.

Your eyes grew bigger when you read the note. You looked at Damien and he looked dead serious.

I heard in the girls toilets that she used to date Younis before Layla went crazy. Layla is crazy because of Younis and Marissa.

That's impossible. Layla was always crazy from the start even before her and Younis were together. Layla had a plan to kill Marissa apparently. That's what Pablo told me.

That means, if Marissa got kidnapped, it could be Layla who did it because the last time we saw Layla and Marissa were 1-2 weeks ago.
