The War beyond the Wall.

By Nicole Wittstock,  P7

There once was a time where people did not fight. The scent of flowers and the laughter and music of the children could be heard. Where there wasn't a wall sprateing us, now is not that time. Humanity was separated children were abandon and left on streets. This is my story not a story of happiness and joy. This is war.  There are no winners in war only survivors.

My name is Colten, at the age of 13 lost my mother and father to them. The evil ones. I can remember it as if it was yesterday I was walking to the store my mother was holding my younger brother in her arms. My father walking behind her.  We had just opened the door and entered the shop. With no warning the bomb went. The fires warmth ran up my arm and to my face. I could see my brother in my dead mother's arms I could hear the screams of innocent people.

My father screamed his last words ''save them''. He passed out as his body was being burned into ashes. We were being cremated into a world that was not our own.  I knew what I had to do.  Save them.  I picked myself up the adrenalin flowing in my blood. Helped control the pain. I grabbed my crying brother in to my arms and ran to the exit sign. The screams had died down. And all had gone quiet. Body's laying on the floor in their own little fire.

Then I heard it "help me, help please '' the little girl said Horsley "please" she said crying. She looked almost my age maybe a little younger, 12 maybe.  As I walked over to the girl. Pieces of the ceiling started to crumble. The dust was thick, which made it very hard to breath. The ground began to shake with every step I took. Part of the firey ceiling started to fall on to the girl.

''Watch out!'' I screamed as I sprinted over to her. It smashed us. The fire had gotten all over us burning our hair to a scorch. She stared to cry and sob again. I spoke softly as I lifted the ceiling off of us.'' Its ok we will be ok I'll get us out of here.''

I gathered her in my arms and my brother on top of her. I ran out of the building to were our fate was laid. Outside was a disaster. What, used to be a beach was now a cemetery. Body's on the ground.  The remaining survivors were scavenging for anything that could be used.  I set the girl and my brother down on the warm sand. Two survivors looked at us with a nasty glare. I thought to myself ''There dissatisfaction was kind of amusing''. I chuckled.

The girl looked at me ''Why are you laughing? This is not funny. My family's gone my house is gone.''

Her glazing green eyes piercing me. "I .... I um this isn't my fault I ... I'm sorry I was just .....Because they were glaring at us with ...." I stumbled upon my words as she interrupted me

" I don't care you still laughed'' she stood up and looked to the sky "My name is the only thing I have left."

I looked up to her and said "You still have me."

She sniffled then spoke" I know. And for you im very thank full you saved me and I can never repay you enough for that.'' She turned and started to limp away .

This is only the beging to a nightmare that has no end.
