Third person P.O.V.

The morning had been tiring, safety lessons after safety lessons. Don't dive in the shallows, don't swim out too far, that kind of stuff. Leona didn't listen. She had already heard it so many times it was etched into her brain like graffiti scratched into old monuments.

Finally, when Steph finished explaining, Leona walked over to them.

"Another new group today huh?" Leona questioned.

"Yeah, apparently they've been in training for two weeks." Steph responded already sounding tired."I already don't like the way they're fooling around."

It was true they were being reckless and were pushing each other around on the dock with no care for their safety. "Hey!" Leona yelled at the new divers. "If you're doing that now you aren't going to have enough energy to swim today!"

"Sorry miss." They immediately responded, then stood attentively.

"Before we dive, check your equipment and your partners equipment. If you have any problems, call one of us over."

Steph was always like that, they were able to instruct like they'd been doing it all their lives.

"Okay!" The students replied. As we checked our own equipment, the waves crashed softly against the sandy beach, the seafoam almost perfectly cappuccino consistency, while the sky was a beautiful baby blue and was only just being painted red.

"Lights on!" Steph told the group. Only six lights came on. "Carly? Is your light not working?" Leona asked as Carly's light only flickered and kept dying out.

"Uhm.. yeah, I don't know whats going on with it." Carly said sounding really upset that it wasn't working. "Okay, bring it here and I'll give you a new one." Leona brought Carly over to the equipment box, and reached in to grab a new light. "Here you go, does this one work?" "Yes it looks like its working." Carly answered sounding more cheerful now, as her new light flickered on and stayed lit. "Alright, everyone into the water, slowly so that none of us get thrown down by the water." Steph orders, "I'll let you know when we're deep enough to go under." They walked in about ten feet and were wading through the water when the wave hit, and they all went under and came up again.

"Everyone all right?!" Steph shouted over the coughing. A chorus of yeps and yeahs responded to the question, and everyone was accounted for, except for Leona.

Leona struggled against the current, pushing, and kicking. But the scaly hand that had grabbed her was persistent, and it refused to let go. Leona glanced downward towards her feet and saw a shape underneath her, but she wasn't quite believing what she saw.

"LEONA!?" Steph shouted above the water, everyone was looking for Leona but the search was definitely not fruitful. "Leona, where did you go?" By this time it was getting dark, and nobody could make out each other's silhouettes anymore. They would have to give up the search and get other people involved.

Meanwhile, under the water Leona could see the lights slowly move away, her own having been put out when it got cracked open hitting a rock. She wanted to scream, her heart told her to. Her mind however was the one to lock that thought away. She looked around for something, anything, to make the thing let go of her. But there was nothing.

She started to give up, her breath started spilling from her lungs and mouth. As her vision started to turn black, something was put over her mouth. And she was dragged even further under the water, nobody knew it yet but she wouldn't be back for a while.

Leona woke up in an unfamiliar place, not unlike what everyone thought atlantis looked like. Alien almost, but also like it could've been from a normal city. Her vision started to blur again and she blacked out, hoping it was all just some sort of weird hospital dream again.

It may as well have been a comatose dream, because she woke up again to a normal person there with her. And she'd seen the person's face before, this was the scaly woman that had dragged her under the water not even two days before. But, Leona didnt recognize her yet. But what about yesterday? When she... actually, Leona couldn't remember what had happened. She tried to remember but the blurry moments kept striving to evade her.

She was sure that she hadn't gotten here by herself... but then who brought her there? And where was Steph? Thinking about it, none of them were there, nobody else was familliar. She knew not a soul in this place.

Within five minutes, the girl left, and Leona was left with only her thoughts and herself. Slowly, so very, very, slowly, the hours inched past. And Leona decided to look around, she was tired of sitting on her ass doing nothing but waiting. She got up and parted the doors to the room she was being kept in, The city was stunningly bright and colorful, the buildings all adorned with little glow lights along the doorways and windowsills. Teal, sapphire, golden yellow, and emerald colored decorations were hung around floating in the air, seemingly attatched to nothing.

The streets were filled from building to building with different foods, all looking extremely expensive and exotic. One of the vendors selling something looking like guava fruit but the flesh was almost as red as the scarlet in a sunset. Everything had specific fragrances as well, a cinnamon scent wafted through the air past her, and Leona couldn't help but walk into the street to see more of these interesting foods that she'd never seen or heard of before.

She managed to stumble upon a storefront containing what looked like a clothing store on the inside. Again, when she had entered this store, everything looked lavish and costly, and not like any clothing store she had ever been inside.

Suddenly, the door to the shop slammed open and the girl who had been there when Leona woke up the second time entered, looking extremely worried, then she spotted Leona, and rushed over.

The girl grabbed Leona by the arm and dragged her back to the room she was in before she started walking around, then forced Leona to sit on the bed.
