"Oh nothing finna take my ring off to wash my hands." Navy dramatically sighed.
She turned towards Essence to see her stale facing her and they both bursted into laughter.
Navy had been going on about the promise ring Dakota gave her since the night he gave it to her which was exactly one week ago.
They were one week into the new year and things were going great for the group of friends. Their bond with each other was becoming stronger.
Navy proceeded to slide the ring off of her finger and sit it aside on the counter before washing her hands.
"But no seriously that was so sweet of him, he most definitely has a soft spot for you." Essence said throwing their trash away from their lunch.
They decided to order Panera Bread and eat it at the shop instead of leaving. The first week back at work for Navy was hard, her sleep schedule was messed up from the break and she had to get used to waking up early again.
During the break she would just take bookings later in the evening on weekdays. Since the break is over she has to come to work when the shop opens in the morning.
She wasn't complaining because soon, she was going to be in her own shop. Nobody except for Dakota knew about her plans on getting her own shop and she wanted to keep it that way because she didn't like to jinx things.
"You still leaving early today?" Navy asked Essence as she leaned on the receptionist desk.
"Yup, my fam is forcing me to go to this awkward ass party." She said rolling her eyes at the thought of the party.
Essence wasn't very close with her family and visited them not so often. They wanted her to attend her father's birthday party and she was against it at first until she found out her favorite cousin was in town and would be in attendance.
"It won't be that bad, at least Zaya gone be there." Navy said referring to the cousin.
"You haven't met my family yet Nay, they are disgraceful for real." Essence said shaking her head.
Just as Navy was about to respond the bells on the door began ringing letting them know that somebody had walked into the shop.
