***IMPORTANT***
If you have not seen my message, please go re-read chapter 4. A scene was accidentally missing and I've since added it. If you do not, this chapter won't make sense to you.
Thank you!

It was fine.
It would be fine.
It was okay.
Except it wasn't.
What would she do? What in the jingles could she do?
Bethanie hadn't moved.
She didn't know how long went by since Filip met his demise - by her hands - but she knew it had been a while. Would they come looking for him eventually? Once he didn't return close to sunlight, would they check on him?
Or would they assume he stayed with her?
She knew some vampires could have links with each other, but the fact no one had come until now... didn't it mean they didn't? She knew a lot, but she did not know everything. Even if they didn't come right away though...
Bethanie had to leave, she had to get out.
It was the same problem as before. Even if she got out of this room, where would she go?
But then, both fates were the same, were they not?
If she got out, she'd die.
If they got to her, she'd die.
She had killed Filip. She had murdered him.
Speckles of rage swirled inside her chest, but they did not dry up the tears which had fallen down her cheeks for the past few hours. It was a life. She had killed someone. Taken his life from him forever.
But... but he had come at her.
She thought he might have provided her with an explanation, something.
But he hadn't.
He had turned... like if he had flipped a switch.
Bethanie glanced down at her legs, looking at the ashes covering her skin. She hadn't dusted herself off. She hadn't removed the remnants of Filip's body from her own. She couldn't.
She smacked her hands on both sides of her neck, scratching at the sensitive flesh. No. Bethanie paused, looking at her elbows. If she drew skin... she would attract even more attention. She didn't need that.
Think, think.
She didn't have a phone.
She didn't have anything.
She couldn't reach out to anyone, she couldn't - who would come? Would her parents help her? They helped her meet Filip....
Wait.
Her throat clamped up and for a beat, she struggled to find air. Did they know? Did her parents know what kind of person Filip was? No. No. They were her parents. They loved her. They raised her by giving her everything and helping her find...
Her soulmate.
But Filip wasn't her soulmate.
How could he be...
What did that mean?
Bethanie felt her mind fracture. Nothing made sense.
For the first time since she stabbed Filip to death, she hopped to her feet and ran to the bathroom, a hand clamped over her mouth, barely keeping the vomit from spilling from her lips.
